Collective nouns can be numerous for any animal, group etc.. for example, sheep can be in a ‘flock’ or a ‘herd’ or a ‘drove’ or a ‘hurtle’ etc, while dolphins and whales can be in a ‘school’ or a ‘pod’ etc.. so everyone’s correct and wins a packet of Dolly Mixtures!
As for The Anfield Road Formation Brick Throwers, well I wonder if the collective noun for turtles might be appropriate.. ‘a dole’.. because turtles only poke their heads out when it’s safe to do so (for example, when their team has been on a bit of a flukey winning streak, punctuated with lots of offside goals and dubious penalties) yet withdraw into their shells once their team is on the receiving end of a good tatering (for example, as with their recent performance at The Etihad)
There could be one other interpretation of ‘a dole of Scousers’ but I’m having trouble remembering what on Earth it could be (my age, forgive me.. I wish I could recall what it might refer to..)
