I think Klopp is fully to blame for recent results. He has failed to utilise his squad, playing Salah for 90 minutes in too many games early in the season and failing to get the team to perform without him. Now Salah is under performing but also, the whole team are failing to press like they used to.

Klopp's tactics have looked Allardyce like recently. Long hopeful punts upfield. It works fine when they hassle the opposition but fearing a goal against them, he has the team backing off and allowing the opposition to play out from the back a bit more easily. That is leading to constant hoof ball. The lack of quality in central midfield has really shown.

There is still a long way to go and on paper we have tougher games, but if they are playing that way now, it's only likely to get worse. We all felt their squad might creak, and it has. We need it to continue to do so, because our injuries have added up again and without Laporte, Stones, Fernandinho and De Bruyne we lack some vital players in key positions.

That International break is vital. Sterling and Jesus need to pull out if possible! But we have a key group - Laporte, Ederson, Aguero, Ferny and Silva that all get a rest now.

The thing is if the roles were reversed and Pep came 2nd after leading so much of the season the media would say he had failed and he should walk. Come on blues tighten the fcuking screw.

I agree, it would be a total fuck up. But that fuck has been made to happen by City's form. their results haven't been bad, it is just that we are fucking brilliant!!!

Liverpool haven't tended to struggle against the fodder of the league this season, it's the big boys where they've dropped most of their points and even the draws of late are against decent top 10 sides that pose enough a threat going forward to not be able to just push everyone on and play attack vs defence. When they're struggling to break through, they go long, their fullbacks have good delivery and they just bombard the box until something gives, its not pretty but it's effective and generally works or at least often provides the best chance of working against teams camped in their own third. Not saying they will win every game but it would have to be a catastrophic fall for them to not even hit 90 points from here with that fixture list, nothing else to play for and a relatively fit squad. I still see them getting between 92-95 points, meaning we are going to have to win all but maybe 1 game or 2 if theyre draws to retain the league.

Indeed, if they go all season with just the 1 defeat and finished second, I am sure they would get a trophy for that in some scouse universe.

Let's take a look at this nett spend ("We're only spending the Coutinho money") bollocks.

January 2018 - Sold Coutinho to Barca for £105m plus £37m potential add ons. (I doubt any of those have kicked in yet).

January 2018 - Bought VVD for £75m (world record for a defender).
July 2018 - Bought Alisson for £ 66.8m (then a world record for a keeper).
July 2018 - Bought Keita for £48m plus undisclosed add ons.
July 2018 - Bought Fabinho for £39m.
July 2018 - Bought Shaqiri for £13.5m.
Total spend in 2018 - £242.3m

That Coutinho money is really being eked out.

Looking at that they've still got about £174bn of Coutinho money left.

Dipperland accounting come's into play.

£105m 2018

They count this as one credit to their books.

The incoming signing's however only the amortised amount counts to the nett spend up. I am just going to use 5 years as cant be arse to check how long the contracts are.

VVD £75m / 5 = £18m
Alission £66.8m / 5 = £13.8m
keita £48m /5 = £9.6m
fabinho £39m/5 = £7.8m
shaqiri £13.5m/5 = £2.7m

So they've sold £105m and brought £51.9m in amortised transfer fees so far, therefore within the nett spent cup rules they still have £53.1m amortised fees which gives gnasher another £265.5m in headline transfer fees before the Coutinho money is accounted for.

They must have got quite a bit for Karius

And according to Spit the Dog yesterday despite spending close to £250m they haven’t replaced Coutinho and that’s why they can’t create anything from midfield... so they’ll have to splash £100m on Jordan Henderson mark II.

The dippers need to learn to keep their gobs shut whilst the fat lady is still gargling mouthwash, silly entitled twats, will they ever learn ? ..... The title isn't over by a long shot but they cant help themselves, those t shirts will be out again if the do manage to creep ahead again.... fuckin wasters the lot of em..!

They already signed him from Monaco in the summer, maybe they can bring in mark III?

Amazes me that Klopp has gone from that perfectly balanced Bender-Gundogan-Götze midfield to thinking the ones he picks now will win things.

I don't think there's a single Blue who thinks it's done and dusted, not one. As supporters we've been through the grinder on numerous occasions, sunk to the murky depths of lower league status, and yet we stayed loyal to the club we love. We are grounded in reality, so whilst being one point ahead at the beginning of March is nice, the marathon isn't over yet - there's many a slip 'tween cup and lip.

What will be interesting is seeing how the dippers handle the intense pressure of the run-in. We are both going to be under the microscope for the remainder of the season, every misplaced pass, every shot at goal, every free kick from now on, each one could possibly have devastating consequences for the eventual losers. So for me it may come down to the mentality of our respective managers. Klopp has neither the mental strength or the footballing nous to see it through, as we've all recently witnessed. There have been tell-tale signs that he's becoming dangerously unhinged - for a second yesterday I honestly thought he was going to thump the kid who was clapping him. It would not have come as any great surprise if he had. He's got that haunted look of increasing self-doubt that he tries to hide with a cheery grin and media-friendly quip, but beneath it is a man who is struggling, a man on the edge. Reminds me very much of Peg in his final weeks at the swamp.
Whereas Pep on the other hand, is calmness personified. He is strong and confident, a natural leader, as opposed to someone who has had leadership thrust upon him.

No, the title is not a foregone conclusion (Ricky Gervais pun intended), but I know who my money is on come end of season.

I agree that none of us (City supporters) think the title race is over. As you say, we’ve spent too long in the divisions in the last 20+ years to ever feel that way. Certainly, there have been too many false dawns and kicks in the teeth in the nearly 50 years that I have been following Manchester City for me to ever feel this way.

However, the fact that the buswreckers, with our not inconsiderable help, have contrived to turn a ten-point lead into a one-point deficit has led to a certain amount of hilarity among us Blues.

We know the boys will fight to the end, and we also know that Klippety and his lot will also be doing their utmost to win the title. It’s going to be a very interesting couple of months.
