Come to think of it.

He could be anyway. If he wins the title he knows they'll expect the double next season so leave as a winner and he'll be worshipped like the Beatles forever there.
 
I always remember, some years ago now, a thing on TV where (Red) Scousers were whining about the poor performance of their club. "Grobbelaar should be sold to Chipperfields" is the quote that sticks in my mind, but there was a parade of ugly Scousers going on about how unfair it was. At the time they were something like 8th!

They have no idea what it's like to support a football club through thick and thin, because they have this belief that they have a divine right to success. Well, guess what, no one does.

If they end up this year with absolutely bugger all I shall be delighted, and that is entirely down to the bizarre attitude of most of their fans. I never thought I should dislike a fan base more than the Rags, but compared to these berks the Rags seem modest and grounded.

And just like the Beatles, he’ll leave Miseryside as soon as he becomes successful.

I genuinely thought they would (and posted something about it on here) before Spurs fucked it all up.

Now I can't see Spurs catching up 9 points in 9 games. Maybe, but very unlikely at this point.

I do think that they are 1 bad result away from imploding though. If they went out of the CL and then lost or drew to Burnley on the weekend, I could see 3/4 points becoming 9/10 within a month.
 
I can't really recommend 20 odd minutes of this rambling rubbish, but five things are clear.....

Their fans are mard arses.

They're panicking.

The only way to avoid admitting they're bottling it, is to redefine bottling.

Scousers have no grasp of narrative, there's no beginning, middle or end to anything they say and they'll happily change tack mid sentence.

They won't admit that the fans themselves are a big part of the problem.

I was visiting my wifes grandad last night in hospital and just me and him chatting about football (hes a big PNE fan), cricket etc etc. A bloke in a bed across with a woman and bloke visiting him are leaving and on the way out mention something about football and my wifes grandad mentions i'm a city fan. The blokes face changes and goes all snarley at me (he must have been in his 70's). Starts ranting at me about all our trophies are worthless, 3 billion pounds spent, souless club with no fans. Honestly couldn't make it up. Sat there and said nothing with my heart screaming to respond but sense of where i was telling me say nothing. Neither of us had ever met this bloke before.

He was keeping up his rant, so i just asked who he supported. Liverpool. Then proceeded to tell me what an incredible club they are, a family club, a club with history, a club who doesnt spend money and buy titles. That was the only point i bit, i agreed they don't buy titles as they haven't won won for nearly 30 years so he was correct. I did ask him how much Allsion, Keita, VVD all costlast year, but at that point his wife dragged him out.

It certainly did make for an entertaining 10 minutes, but really, what a prick.

Reading all this about Liverpool fans bottling it makes me chuckle.

Remember what we were like in march 2012? If you dont, try looking at old messages on here and possibly your very own text messages to your mates. Liverpool are as starved of success as we all were in 2012. But look how that finished. Liverpool fans being bonkers wont make the slightest bit of difference, just like our own fans being bonkers (remember how many city fans were clocked crying?) didn’t stop Aguero when he had that one opportunity with the pressure of an entire football club on his shoulders.

I hope Liverpool fuck off and let us stroll to the title, but its not going to happen. Quality will be more important than bottle.
