Now that Suarez has dirtied his bib with his celebration, he surely won't get an invitation to the Liverpool legends squad. Which means Aldridge may have to play up front for another couple of years till another legend comes along. Liverpool running low on legends since 1990

They can always call on Jimmy Carter if Aldo isn't available

No, so I guess it's not beyond the realms of possibility. Still think it's highly improbable though.

You’ve been watching football too long to predict anything ric !! Example rags 4-Everton-4 Bayern Munich murdering them then you know the rest. Just a couple of examples come on you magpies

Agreed. At that time Newcastle were still in a relegation battle. Now they have nothing to play for and some of their better players are out injured. Sadly I can't see them putting up much of a fight.

He showed himself to be very inexperienced at this level. Defending for the first goal was absolutely terrible, and for the second he just gets caught ball watching for a second as the ball is looping towards his goal, and Messi doesn't switch off.

can see the keeper isnt giving up,neither is the Barca player running past Virgil.

I agree, but I can't see them relishing being thumped by Liverpool in their last home game of the season, that's got to mean something.

I'm assuming the players would have flown back last night, prob got back after midnight. Does anyone know if they would be given a day off or would they push back training into the afternoon? Either way not much prep time between then and tomorrow afternoon when they will need to travel to newc..

They could be a bit leg weary from last night's efforts which I think increases Newcastle's chances of getting something slightly but Liverpool have been relentless in the league for weeks and haven't dropped any points since they played Everton away. I've been saying for weeks that we'll need to win all our remaining games to clinch the title and I still stand by that.

I know people are saying Liverpool have bottled it by relinquishing a 7 point lead (10 when we had a game in hand over the festive period), but it's only because we've won 12 in a row since the Newcastle defeat that it looks like more of a bottle job. In reality they've lost a tight game at ours, and drawn 4 other games against Leicester, West Ham, United, and Everton - all tricky looking games. The one game I would pinpoint as being the eipitome of a bottle job was when they had a glorious opportunity to increase that lead back to 7 points after Newcastle beat us when playing Leicester at home the following night, and blew it.

If Liverpool don't win it, it's far less of an implosion than Newcastle's in 1996 and United's in 2012

And hopefully a nice symmetry of them somehow being held to a draw at Newcastle on Saturday, and a professional non bottle job twatting of Leicester at home by city would make the last weekend a more relaxing whilst keeping their we only lost once all season trophy in tact.

I personally don't think it's overly optimistic to say they could draw against Newcastle on Saturday. They will be tired and on a downer whilst still feeling (incorrectly) that they have a chance of turning the game around against Barcelona such is their overall arrogance. Newcastle must weather the obvious early storm that is coming as the dippers will be resting some and looking to take others off in the second half in readiness for Tuesday. As long as Newcastle don't roll over for them we could all be having our own special night under the lights on Monday.

As always though, I'm taking nothing for granted but I'm definitely smelling scouse blood.

Just the right level of defeat. Keeps them thinking they have a chance when it's practically all done and dusted. Hopefully a big enough distraction for the Newcastle game. Klopp still trying to 'motivate' his boys. If thats their best away form and they get beaten 3-0 , then all is well in my world this morning

Klopp said they were flying back this morning
