Have to say I do agree with you although maybe not having as hard line view, or being as upset about the tone, on it.
TAA has been playing poorly and when you play poorly, you get dropped, nothing new or strange about that. It also has to be considered the team he is playing in.
Playing the way he does may suit Liverpool but doesn't suit England and so players who are better actual defenders than TAA (yes there are many) deserve to play. Other players offer something different or link better with colleagues. I honestly cannot see why people get so upset about him being dropped.
You would actually think they could maybe see the benefit this would give to the club and player. Work harder on his game, get back some form and even get a break.
Once again its a case of the media and social media blowing things out of proportion and stoking up comment.
...And that brings us to why Sky still have Carragher on...he makes headlines, pretty much like Piers Morgan or Adrian Durham.... Put something contentious out there and we get debate. Or as then happens you get people going all ranty.
