There was an interesting article in the Athletic last week about how referees are marked for games. Apparently every single decision (of which there can be 100s in a game) is scored, which would clearly show up biases for and against any clubs. They then go into a league table, and if you get low marks you don't get the big games.

On the other hand, Robertson (who even has his own 'shithouse tribute videos' made by Liverpool fans) made it through most of last season without being booked. So, clearly the system is a bit shit.

If we finish above you, we’ll win the league. If you finish ahead of us, you’ll win it. A lot more twists and turns in this story to come though.
