I hope the guy gets better to play at some level in the future. I didn't see it but it sounds like what would be referred to in F1 as a " racing incident". Having been a City fan for many years whilst Colin, Alfie KDB Kun etc were all crocked by thugs, I have little sympathy for victimpool fans with regard to this and hope the Dippers who have a thin squad, find this torpedoes their chances of keeping up with the top clubs in the Prem and they get early exits from the Chumps League, FA and League Cups so they are back to wallowing in the indifferent levels of English Clubs football.

Yeah, great reminder from Mike.. I loved ‘Big John’ when it was in the charts.. but I always preferred the ‘B’ side, ‘I Won’t Go Hunting With You Jake (But I’ll Go Chasing Women)’.. they don’t write songs like that any more (thank goodness!)

As for Liverpool’s squad not getting any sleep since the ‘Vigil for Virgil’ began, well I’d prescribe a teaspoon of Calpol in everyone’s malted milk at bedtime before Matron reads them their ‘night-night’ story..
