It is interesting, yet also disappointing to see Liverpool seeming to scrabble around looking for a CB.
I don't feel that inspired by any of those possibles coming in and just gotta hope that Fabinho is fit.
Not something that inspires confidence for the upcoming game. I really don't know who on nearth Klopp/Bingo is going to put in but irrespective of who he does it got me thinking about who would most scare our prospective CB's or cause them the most problems?
Maybe it is my own lack of real focus when watching City play. Enjoying the games and play but not seeign everything like work off the ball etc....but I would think that any CB pairing would rather face Jesus than Aguero.
Then again, any 3 running at pace at them is going to be tough to keep out.
In most of our last few games we've not played a true number 9 though, only really against against Sheff un*t*d and in the cup game tbh, when Jesus got starts, and that was more for rotation than anything IMO.
Recently our preferred, and most successful system has been a more fluid interchangeable front 3 (from Mahrez, Sterling, Silva, Foden and Torres) with Cancelo and Zinchenko (or Walker) providing much of the width and Gundogan pushing up to join in with the attacks. But even that's an over-simplified description as both of the first choice wing backs also like to play inside as well as out.
So, it's not a case of preferring to face Jesus over Aguero, if I were you I'd be more worried if neither of them played and about how your non-defender-midfielders, new recruits and untested youth players who are going to be filling in for you at the back will be able to understand our crazy system and about them getting their heads around who's playing where at any particular moment and who to mark and who to leave.
I can see us absolutely hammering you tbh, but I've felt this way many times before and been very, very wrong with my predictions, so who knows (?), it really could go either way, as 2 of your front 3 terrify me, due to their cheating nature as much as their clinical shooting ability.
I think, as usual, the first goal will be ultra important in dictating the tactics for the rest of the game.
