Did the ref call the penalty?

If it hasn't changed, VAR is instructed not to re-evaluate, but to validate that there was an offence (no matter how soft). VAR will not take the theatrics into consideration either. So as soon as the ref made his call, VAR had no chance to overturn.

Did the ref call the penalty?

It wasn't fucking moyes that gave it lol

As for VAR not being able to intervene on a shit decision? Bollocks although ive little doubt they wont unless it suits and its not a team in red and its why VAR is an abomination that has turned the game to shit.

Might as well watch WWE!

Just watched the Salah penalty incident , what an embarrasment to football , a slight touch and i mean a very slight touch which would never bring a player down and the scream he let out which was exaggerated because there were no fans , was just pure unadulterated cheating.
The problem is when i watch my grandsons under 14 team , they are doing the same thing , slightest touch and they let out a scream , Salah is an absolute disgrace , a terrible example to kids playing the game is he that desperate to win that he leaves his morals in the dressing room.
No doubt other players do exactly the same , but he is a high profile player adored by millions , so his disgusting actions are seen by his fans as acceptable , ive no idea how he looks in a mirror , he should be ashamed of himself.

The introduction of VAR is changing football and how it’s played, players go into the box looking for any slight contact with the defenders foot as they know there is someone elsewhere how can spin it into a decision as it why it is a penalty.

Phillips given man of the match but didn't have much of a test. I thought he did ok considering it was his first time but West Ham forward very low on confidence and gave him a walk in the park.
Be happy to face the side they had out today next week.
I've said it already, carragher and the rest of the dipper media are trying to big him up and give him confidence ahead of next week's game. With 70% + possession he was hardly under the cosh

he meant did the ref point to the spot or did the VAR give the original decision. The ref gave it and VAR didn’t overturn it

If I was playing now and a player did that they’d get a swift ankle stamp to make sure they are screaming. I just can’t see how anyone can defend this, if our players do it I think it’s disgraceful, Sterling is the only one who comes close and he is nowhere near this level.
Vardy has also perfected the 'art' of winning penalties although he does it in a different way to Salah. The back leg flick into the opponent done quickly to simulate contact as he flings himself ground wards. That said, I've no time for Sterling's attempts to win penalties either although with him he seems to lose balance falling the way he is facing when he feels a touch. Salah does a ridiculous backward twist with a loud scream. It's all cheating.

Just watched their penalty decision about 20 times and cant see a foul. The only thing I think I saw but am not 100% on is did the WHU hit the bottom of Salah boot. Like I saw I am not sure he did. If he did it was a soft penalties.

Why cant VAR after the match come out and tell the press/media what and why they gave that decision ? VAR has nothing to be afraid of they have made the correct decision based on 8 or 9 different camera angles. The only reason not to explain how they made that decision is because the game is bent. Or why cant we hear them discussing it ?.......Bent
I think he did just catch the bottom of his boot and that's all that diving bastard needs to hit the floor as if hit by prime Tyson.

Hate that club with a passion

It’s an interesting take that all of the MOTD panel think that Salah dived and think it needs to be eradicated but no real damnation or real debate into how the officials and VAR didn’t respond to the dive.
I noticed the subtle distraction technique of shifting the spotlight onto Masuaka (?). Basically saying he was foolish and stupid for initiating contacting with Salah's boot. Concentrate on that for long enough and you don't have enough time or column space to talk about the diving, cheating Egyptian who has made this an integral part of his (and Liverpool's) game under Klopp. Time for a pundit with enough balls to call this out for what it is.
