The season that Frannie scored a record number of penalties, only four were awarded for fouls on him.

Around that time, Italians were the biggest culprits.

If you do not think Franny Lee won Penalties, that is fair enough.
I will go with my own recollections, he was excellent at it, and did play for more than one season you know.

I know he did. He was my favourite player.

However, the false reputation as a diver arose during the 1970/71 season, when he scored 13 penalties, four of which were awarded for fouls on him.

I don’t like to see players injured and feel for Van Dijk that he’ll be out for so long. He’s a very good player and an honest professional.

However, if Salah were to be on the end of a similar injury I don’t think I’d feel an ounce of sympathy for him.

Did the ref call the penalty?

If it hasn't changed, VAR is instructed not to re-evaluate, but to validate that there was an offence (no matter how soft). VAR will not take the theatrics into consideration either. So as soon as the ref made his call, VAR had no chance to overturn.

VAR had every chance to overturn the penalty because it was a clear and obvious error to give the penalty given that it was not a foul.

The introduction of VAR is changing football and how it’s played, players go into the box looking for any slight contact with the defenders foot as they know there is someone elsewhere how can spin it into a decision as it why it is a penalty.

i understand players are now winning penalties , do we need the pathetic dramatics along with it ? Ive just watched the Womens FA Cup Final , superb game no cheating , no drama queens , a breath of fresh air.
Our game is being ruined by cheating prima donnas and the Dippers have two of main culprits in Salah & Mane two of the biggest cheats in the Premier league , playing for a morally bereft football club , they deserve each other
