As much as I loath the cult (not as much as the rags) I would be fuming if that penalty was awarded against us. Never a penalty in a million years. Can't imagine what was going through the head of the ref and VAR to award that.

There is a real possibility that the dippers will be seen for what they really are.

The press would have everybody believe they are the best team ever seen.
But if they drop away this season, the bare facts do not lie.

They would be a flash in the pan. The very epitome of buying success.
Spend like crazy, and also buying some of the world's most expensive players in their positions.
Dropping out of the domestic cups early and only winning one trophy per season. (the fake cups don't count)
Then after two season fall away.

If they do spend again, it makes a mockery of angry dads statement that he would rather pack in football than spend for success. (even though that is what he has already done)

They have been a very good side. They have pushed us every step of the way for two years.
But they have been working at their peak, sacrificing cups and with no clear plan for what happens next. We have been breaking records, sweeping up cups and going deep into anything we have entered. We have also been looking to the future, to make sure this success will be maintained.

It was slightly harsh but at least Barnes didn't pirouette in the air three times screaming. Fabhino could have been sent off too if it hadn't have been given, he clearly pulls Barnes back as he goes through. After all the soft penalties they have been given all I'll say is karma's a woman.

VAR look like they want united to win the league this season and it's getting more obvious by the week.

This, this and only this. I predicted towards the end of last season that the VAR trophy had been well and truly passed to those from Salford. We can still win the PL this season of course but we will continue to see the scum favoured outrageously.

Am I missing something with the penalty decision?

Striker goes through,
striker flicks the ball over the oncoming keeper,
keeper dives at his feet and brings him down.
Yeah, I thought that. It looked like a penalty to me as much as any of them are nowadays. Certainly moreso than half of the ones the dippers have received in the past few years.

Although one thing I've always found interesting is that if the striker gets their shot away, misses and is taken down in the process, they never get a penalty (happened to Mane yesterday), but if they boot it out of play and get taken down, it's a penalty every time.
