No. What you're doing is called Reductio Ad Absurdum, ie taking an argument to it's most absurd form to try to disprove a different point.

What I'm saying is that many football fans of all clubs suffer from persecution complexes and can only see the bad stuff and not the good stuff. We get some bad press because we are rich and successful but there is not this massive, co-ordinated cross-media campaign against City that some people believe.

I'll give you a little example: there's been lots of ceverage over the last few days about where it's all gone wrong for Liverpool. Loads of City fans are saying "Why are they not focussing on how good we were?" and loads of Liverpool fans are saying "They love it when we fail".
You definitely have some very valid points, but as stated by Cool Hand Khaldoon, there has been clear & obvious attempts to sully our name across the media over the past couple of years, which has been orchestrated by journalistic stooges of certain other clubs. I’m sure you probably agree with this as only a blind man couldn’t see that.

Unfortunately, this has driven some to take massive offence to lots of things that the media say about City, when in reality, a lot of the time, it’s really nothing to get offended about.

I shop for my elderly neighbour who lives alone and is pretty much housebound.

She has an old cat that apparently calls round to see her now and again and she likes to put some food out for it..

I know it brightens up her day and keeps her going..

I don't take any money off her as she hasn't got much, even though she insists.

To be honest, I'd rather she put it towards her heating and eating bills..

She looks forward to me dropping the cat food off on a Thursday night so much so that she's actually told me she stays up specially as she's usually goes to bed at 6.30pm to try to keep warm..!

OK scratch that, I'll come clean..!

it's for the 2 cats we have really, both of which are psychos and will shred you to bits in seconds if you stroke them more than twice,,

Ungrateful ****'s..!
I have one called Gary, after Gary Speed. He's a ****. He is getting better now though, he even sits on me without trying to bite my hand.

I can give you plenty where we've had genuine first teamers out. How about the last game........no Ederson, Dias, De Bruyne or Aguero. Are they players EVERY City fan would put in their first choice starting eleven?
Yes.

We're missing Rodriguez, Allan, Pickford, Gomes and Calvert-Lewin. Which is going to bite us horribly as he's our top scorer. IIRC we've missed Richarlison at one point as well.

I understand what you’re saying but to dismiss the level of blatant shit that still gets thrown City’s way by comparing it to a few negative articles the scousers have suddenly suffered?

I can’t speak for others, but I certainly don’t deploy it to insult an entire fanbase or community. I use it as a reference point to any Liverpool fan who has the temerity to suggest that their club is somehow better than mine, as many frequently do. As a counterpoint, it’s crude, I’ll grant you, yet utterly effective. A set of supporters that was directly response for such a tragedy has fuck all to crow about and need reminding of their hand in an event that shamed English football when they do. Perhaps if they showed a bit more humility and contrition then your comments would have more merit.

In addition, the widespread and enduring denials of culpability from club apparatchiks and supporters alike are outrageous and frequently utterly comical (Chelsea fans, Belgian skinheads, ‘wall collapsing‘ (which actually saved a number of lives in all likelihood)) seriously invite derision. These pitiful attempts at deflection are a rich source of comic material which deserve to be mocked. People need to be called out on their bullshit.

That about covers it from my perspective.
I agree with all that, but then that's a different point to the one i was attacking. Those culpable were still a minority and i'm sure there are many more Dippers that are as appalled and ashamed at such behaviour and tragedy as the rest of the footballing world.

The irony of this post from rawk. The likes of Liverpool, United and Arsenal are the very definition of tourist clubs. I can’t comprehend how stupid this post is, it’s like he/she thinks Anfield is full of scousers every game. ‘I’m sure we’ve picked up a fair few over the years’. No shit you clown. Go to any village/town/city around England, mainly places that have teams in the lower divisions and they will be infested with fake rags and dippers.

There are loads of 'fans' like that out there, aren't there. I'm sure we've picked up a fair few over the years due to our success too. Abu Dhabi will have suddenly found their 'fan' base growing in recent seasons too. I genuinely feel sorry for these people. They have no genuine connection to the clubs they attach themselves to, have no genuine affinity with them or passion for them. They are just insecure and need to feel associated with someone or something currently seen as successful.

Even in these parts some are not immune to it. I recall in the 90s when Blackburn took the Title with Jack Walker's money and Newcastle were an exciting prospect under Keegan. I saw a couple of Blackburn and Newcastle shirts on lads around our way not even known for their interest in football. Of course, as both clubs went on the wane, those shirts were never seen again. I've even spotted a kid in a full Abu Dhabi Sportswash kit in Aintree Asda a few times.

It's all so very soulless, but then again, a soulless 'fan' base for a soulless club with morally bankrupt owners sort of suits that lot at the Emptyhad.

Yes, everyone misses players through injury. The narrative is that only Liverpool have had them whereas in reality they have only had two missing at once. Each team has a squad, City's is no bigger than anyone else's due to 25 maximum. It could be argued that teams in Europe have smaller squads due to the requirement of 4 home grown for European competition. Teams not in Europe can register 8 British players.
Thus, sensible managers work on two per position. Klopp banged on about his centre backs but surely he should have four decent centre backs and not rely on midfielders to cover.
We suffered last year to multiple centre back injuries (plus not replacing Kompany) and thus we used Fernandinho there. Our fault but not recognised by the media.

Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Matip (Gomez), Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Sane, Mane, Firmino. Find me a game where at least three of them have been missing totally over the last three seasons. I believe there was one a couple of weeks ago in a non entity of match. Find me the matches or shut your trap.
We don't need to worry about them.
They need to worry about us.
