We had lost our two CB pairings in Laporte and Kompany and had injuries/lack of form for Stones and Otamendi.Funny how us losing Laporte for most of last season was no excuse as we had a whole host of world class players to fall back on, yet with Van Dijk it's a perfectly reasonable excuse, unless they're claiming the so called best team to ever play the game last year contained no other world class players ?
