Liverpool thread 2020/21

I admire the LFC team. I prefer Guardiola's City because it has imagination as well as physicality but with the ageing of great players (Kompany, Silva, Fernandinho) the physicality disappeared. Perhaps it can now be restored.

A number of Liverpool fans though went beyond football and adopted a campaigning, semi-racist angle in regards to City's ownership. If you go on any football forum you'll find some of these human rights ideologues squatting there completely convinced that Manchester City are the Western-face of the UAE which is a threat to humanity completely oblivious to geopolitics and the role of Western militarism.

It's purely because of the money football spins.

Any and all conspiricies or dirty secrets will and are brushed under the carpet OR released quietly and then the media will focus on something else to bury it (See these fuckers hacking into our scouting base and stealing info)
Cycling was rife with drugs for a long time before whistle blowers blew the lid off it. Paul Kimmage tried for years to tell people what was going on.
It’ll take the same in football, but I fear the money even after your career is over is keeping the whole corrupt wheel spinning.

Didn't watch their game, but apparently Fabinho was very good at CB. He was probably the most obvious city signing in the last 5 years. Half the forum were saying they wanted him. The year we signed Walker and Danilo, we should have signed walker and Fabinho. He could have provided cover at rb, midfield and CB. The closest thing to Fernandinho there is, but it's clear Pep didn't want a midfielder in the Fernandinho mould.

Fabinho had literally fuck all to do as Chelsea were absolutely toothless upfront yesterday. It couldn't of been easier for him

But you still have a better team, and are clear favorites for the title this season so you should be fine. Our depth's been an issue, I hope Thiago and Jota can help a little, TBD. FIrmini, Mane and Salah have played a lot of minutes.

We were clear favourites last season.

I think the teams are on a par. VVD is better than what we have at the back. Your full backs create more than ours, your front three are on a par with ours. Midfield we maybe have more creativity.

We maybe have more depth overall but you are addressing that.

From what I have seen from Chelsea, United and Arsenal so far, I can’t see any challenging for titles so it will be the two of us again. Let’s hope this season we put up a better fight than we did last!

If it ever does come to light I think we all know which club will be the only one accused !

I posted a few days ago about some faint hearted fans appearing to be throwing in the towel before we have even kicked a ball.
It seems that quite a few others are beginning to fall for some of the constant hype from the media about how good teams in red are whilst like the media turning a blind eye to some of the strange mistakes of officials and opposition players already continuing in the same fashion as last season. Short memories seem to have forgotten, a
Century of points, a clean sweep of domestic trophies and a recent tanking of the dippers.
Some of the posters with the mard arsed comments are obvious fakes from the other teams with recently set up fake names include the current nuisance who uses the name of a former City captain in a smart arsed way. My dad went to Wembley as 15 year old when Sam promised the King we would be back the next year and he was as good as his word. My dad was there too and after beating Hitler single handed started a dynasty of Blues.
I digress on a personal memory. Looking at some of the very faint blue posts it seems some have been around quite a while and l wonder if some of these people are long term 'sleepers,' which makes them very sad individuals. Anybody who pretends to be a fan of another team in their forum needs to get a life, forget football and concentrate in the TV 'talent shows that blight us nowadays.

Who needs a rich owner when your Liverpool and can raise 50- 100m every summer selling all your players surplus to requirement ........ everyone loves to help them out..FFS. Expecting grugic to go for 20m along with harry Wilson around the same figure.

It's just odd in football, that if this was a pro cycling team the press/media would be accusing them of doping and reporters would be looking into it. Yet in football there doesnt seem to be the same attention paid to football teams. Can you imagine the out cry in cycling if one pro team had 63% of its team as asthmatics ?
Well the problem there is that The Times were the whistleblowers over the doping in cycling with their in depth investigation and no holds barred reporting. Well why is that a problem you ask. David Walsh who was at the head of the cycling investigation is the chief sports writer for The Times and I believe is a southern Irish born Livarpool supporter. Any inverstigation led by The Times, not a hope of a hurley stick on the wall of an orange order lodge. Come to think of it the hurley stick would be favourite.

Klopp played a blinder when he substituted the on field ref with the one in his pocket miles away in an office somewhere with a curly perm and tache to get the yellow card replaced with a red......inspired signing that VAR!

The Mail is lauding Klopp for showing "class" when telling his staff they shouldn't have been gloating when Christensen was sent off.

I don't recall any mention of his lack of class when being an ungracious loser or lying about rival clubs.

I mean granted that need not make headlines, but is it a BAD thing now that he told them to stop, just because his name is Jurgen?

Not really. Maybe his staff shouldn’t need telling not to gloat. Certainly not against Chelsea so soon after the last time.
