Yes you would. The phone goes now, Neil Lennon on the phone. “Peoffrey you fucker, get off bluemoon. I want to pay you ten grand a week to play for Celtic. You’ll have a lovely house just outside Glasgow, we’ll get you as fit as fuck and then you’ll play in front of 60,000 every week.”

“Nah, my principles won’t allow it.”

Honestly. I’d sooner play lower league or abroad. I hate Celtic after how their fans played up at our ground. I couldn’t play for that mentality.

Imagine my surprise, yet it doesn't seem to get much of a mention...

Since Feb they have played 21 games in all competitions.

They have lost 9 and drawn 2 - the two draws came in a 0-0 at Everton and a fortunate 1-1 draw at home to Burnley.

They have won ten, including a late 3-2 win at home to a relegation threatened West Ham and an opening 4-3 at home to Leeds.

Hardly the stuff of legend.
Maybe some of it is down to pissing the League by Christmas, nobody challenged them & they were knocked out of Champions League

Covid then eventually when we restarted it was all about getting over the line

Yes I agree its not a shinning light & they do need criticism for not the best start of the new season & maybe down to no fans allowed in & being cocky cnuts but the Feb-August was basically down to being to easy for them

I guess there season starts against Everton, they lose then its game on & maybe Everton can become serious contenders

I just hope its knocked the stuffing out 9f some & they have a bad run

They are all bemused by the result yesterday but this is what happens when you lose 2to 3 key players and you don’t get the rub of the green . Must admit vvd has been terrible this season and Liverpool finally didn’t get rub of the green . It makes out draw now seem a good result but we need to really get our act together to challenge .

They had a lot of luck last season. They weren't playing particularly well when they were winning every week. Even TAA admitted it in December:

"We are nowhere near 100 per cent. I am not sure we have had a game yet where we have been happy with our performance."

Imo, Liverpool were at their best when we beat them to the title. They won slighlty more pts next season but the peformances weren't at the same level. Their GD in 18/19 was much better than in 19/20.

The narrative was that they were on fire pre lockdown, the truth is shown in your figures. Thanks Tol

Their title win last season was down to momentum they picked up around the time they beat us at Anfield and that Villa game in which they were losing in the final few minutes and ended up winning 3-2. Not down playing their title win, as getting 99 points is no fluke. Good football teams rely heavily on form and momentum and they’ve had that for a couple of years now. We’re seeing signs of that form slipping. Take a couple of players away from that starting line up and it exposes gaps. If Salah or Mane got injured for a few months they wouldn’t be anywhere close to competing for the title.
