Really? I was pretty sure (but my version of "pretty sure" circa 2020/21 means jack shit to be honest) it was on the Wednesday :) but, meh, whatever, the point I was making was still made irrespective of the day :)

I do remember the vitriol pouring out of shiny-head-shearer's mouth as he castigated us for disrespecting the cup.

It seems like Derby and perhaps others are happier to play kids in cup matches than they would in important league matches. Shearer et al will not criticise the way they concentrate on the league as disrespecting the cup. This 'disrespecting' depends on who does it.

I really shouldn't, I know, but I just looked at 'that' forum of theirs (forgive me, Father, I have sinned..)

Some wazzock over there was mithering on about Brighton playing late last night, then being made to play early against us on Wednesday, hinting it was a Premier League stitch-up to help City gain an advantage over their lot.

Clearly not seen how the fixtures/events mops have both flopped this week, then.. Liverpool playing an exhibition match against Villa's youth team last Friday night, with their next game this coming Sunday, 9 days later; meanwhile, City played yesterday, then have Brighton on Wednesday and Palace on Saturday; 3 games in 7 days..
