I've heard ex dipper pundits like Crouch, Hargreaves, and Owen blaming covid and the lack of crowds as a contributory factor for their decline. They are aware everyone is dealing with those circumstances aren't they?
A crowd means more to Liverpool. Covid affects them more n’all.

There is something more fundamentally financially wrong at Liverpool.

They have pursued the CL and PL which are the most lucrative competitions. At the same time they chose to sacrifice the FA and Carabao Cups so they had less games to play than clubs like City who take all competitions seriously.

This enabled Liverpool to able to repeatedly play their best team without injury with the added advantage of the PL assisting their success through officials, VAR, media and more as commercially beneficial.

Liverpool are now suffering the same level of injuries as other clubs with a level playing field. Their CB problems are no different to Citys last season and their solution is to buy a £2m Preston player and sign a free. It does not look like the "famed" FSG moneyball whilst the sit 4th and way behind City.

Corruption always comes to mind but Klopps statement about Manchester City having a 2 week winter break is mis-direction at its worst and clearly not factual. Worthy of journalistic investigation but I aint holding my breath.

This thread should be locked, and only reopened again if City win, or kept locked for 48 if City lose, otherwise there will be coach wreckers all over it tonight.
No. We'll lose today, as that is what we do there, but I do enjoy their posts, should be fun on here later.

They could only spend 2 million to keep the ‘net spend cup’ for another season

Lets see what excuses Bingo has today.

Cannot say player out as they all returned and if he mentions CBs, well he bpught 2 the other week and chose not to play them so that's on him

I can see why he might smell blood. And if I was him, I’d be drumming that into my players. But I’d also remind them that whatever else is going on, they still have a team that can cause serious damage so beware of the wounded animal etc. If we won 3-0 tomorrow and comfortably, I’d be a little surprised but I know that’s the real team. Conversely if you won in the same circumstances, that doesn’t make us a bad team overnight and when the team is back to full strength, we can go again. A loss tomorrow would definitely make retaining the title a much taller order but it’s a mad season so who knows? Game on.
Big mistake by Klopp telling his players they were physically and mentally fatigued. It showed. Allison doesn't normally make those mistakes, mentally tired though. 4-1 and a missed pen. Salah went down far too easily, proper dive that but can see why it was given. You've seen young Phil's class today too.

They aren't any good without the frothing fans in the stadium.

Always been huff and puff, Klopp won't be managing them in 18 months imo.
