IMO Liverpool at full strength, and playing once a week are still a threat.
I don't think they are. Last season, and the one before, I might have agreed with you. This season they have been poor to average every time I've seen them.
Something has happened there of which we know nothing, but something has caused a seismic shift which has caused them to fall so far from us and the top four. Sure, they'll whinge on and on relentlessly about their injuries, because no team ever has had injuries to key players before, but this has surely been the worst attempt by any club to retain the title in Premier league history?

Klopp has drained every single last ounce of physical and mental energy out of the squad and they now have nothing left in the tank. Be honest, they've been running on fumes since the season started, a complete breakdown was only to be expected.

I am of the view that Klopp was always intending to quit at the end of this season if he could regain the Prem. He knew he wouldn't get a complete season from the players he has after this one and so has decided to go all out for glory: grind the players down knowing he would never have to use them again anyway. Like driving an old banger that you know will not pass its MoT in a month or so so just flog the thing to death and walk away.

He's on his way to take over at the German national team. Of that I'm pretty sure. Think about it: one game every couple of months where the players can be pushed to their limits, giving 110% throughout the entire game. That's his style - sprints, not marathons.

Just read that they may not qualify for the europa league but the new competition that comes into effect next season - the europa conference league

Fucking hilarious, please god make it happen
We really need to win that Carabao Cup, that means the Meerkat League place goes to the sixth or seventh place team, depending on the FA Cup winner’s final league position

I agree but would say the signs of them running on empty started to show prior to last seasons end

Poor management, poor squad depth and it lies on the feet of both klopp and their owners

I cant see klopp being backed in the summer, fsg are all about churning money out and in this climate will they spend big to keep challenging?

They clawed themselves over the line last season, they rocked up at our gaff as champions but were firmly put in their place right there and then

Klopp has already put a few soundbites out about no spending this summer and that could be his reason to go if he decides to

That said, I dontvthknk he is a great manager, he plays fast hoof style football. It gets results quick when it eventually clicks but, as you also say, he drives the squad to its limit week in week out - and then it is busted

Be great if he does go as it means a certain slippy will take his place and then we can watch it fall apart even more

Definitely agree, we have to make sure that the dippers have every chance of playing in the europa conference league

It would be sweet karma

As has been said many times that klopp has flogged them to death for the last two seasons. How easy is it for the players to get their levels back up ?
By the time they've everyone back most key players will be the wrong side of 30 or close to it and coming off bad injuries, this squads cycle has run its course.

Now I must be the unlucky person in the world because when ever I have seen liverpool it's just a hoof for the front 3 to chase. Not great football a posh Stoke.
And I might add, Liverpool would be flattered as it's the first time they have ever heard the words "Liverpool" and "posh" in the same sentence.

I've seen favelas more posh than Liverpool.

It will be interesting to see how Liverpool do next season. If they finish outside the European places then they will be able to get far more rest than us and the other probable contenders (United, Chelsea +1).

If their current team stays together, Van Dyke comes back ok and Klopp can motivate them then they would arguably be favourites. It does look like some players are not happy there but no other clubs may be able to buy them (Salah, Mane).

This will be a real test for Klopp and his team. I am not sure that they have it in them to compete with us. Unless they have a very strong start like last season I think they will just be battling Arsenal and Tottenham for fourth place.
