If teams win their game(s) in hand, Liverpool would be 6 points off fourth place, and sat in 9th place ! WOW
Can finally have their trophy parade then

Plenty of revolutionary treatments being introduced for asthma these days, I would guess they'll be fine after some product testing.

Their drop off does seem surprising. Are they actually running less each match than they were last season ? Or running the same but without the intensity ?

For a team to fall away so much is odd I know Leicester dropped of badly after winning the league.
Perhaps the pressure of being champions is mentally draining

It will be interesting to see how Liverpool do next season. If they finish outside the European places then they will be able to get far more rest than us and the other probable contenders (United, Chelsea +1).

If their current team stays together, Van Dyke comes back ok and Klopp can motivate them then they would arguably be favourites. It does look like some players are not happy there but no other clubs may be able to buy them (Salah, Mane).

This will be a real test for Klopp and his team. I am not sure that they have it in them to compete with us. Unless they have a very strong start like last season I think they will just be battling Arsenal and Tottenham for fourth place.
Apart from the CL they've pretty much played once a week anyway since Klopp has been there due to his lack of respect & disreguard for our domestic cups,we on the other hand have proved we can fight comfortably on all fronts,no way would they be favourites....

As has been said many times that klopp has flogged them to death for the last two seasons. How easy is it for the players to get their levels back up ?

Just watched his pressed. Thought he was quite good in it considering.

However he needed to drop that back four deeper, and tweak his formation. It seems to me very stubborn or stupid to continue with a high line without the tools to do it, and that includes a midfield who cannot press to the level a high line back four needs

I can remember around the period 2010/12 Newcastle had a brief resurgence when a good scouting team, especially in France, hit the jackpot with almost every deal for a couple of years. But this couldn't last forever and they fell away as their recruitment fell of a cliff. I can see a similar thing happening at Anfield

The problem for the Dippers this season is that they are burnt out from mourning. There as been a death with some sort of connection to their club almost every week of the season, putting them into mourning mode before every game.

Ian St John
Gerry Marsden
Captain Sir Tom Moore
Maradonna
Johnny Briggs
Larry King
Mary Wilson
Phil Spector
Betty from the chippy
Gordon the gerbil
911 anniversary
etc etc etc

Maybe we should cut them some slack, for as we well know they are a very sensitive breed
You missed VVD off the list.

Amazing how their performance levels dropped and injuries occurred after they were being tested for covid?
Hmmmm.... it is very strange. I wonder if and when the testing ever stops they’ll be steering clear of injuries again and running around at 100 miles an hour?
