They’re going to get away with this and their arrogance and self importance and do what we want attitude will only get worse. We could be looking at another major disaster next time. And for me the media are to blame
I'm not sure they will get away with it. Sure, I don't expect UEFA to ban them or anything like that but the French have now got the info out there that there were many thousands of forged tickets knocking about. The UK press might well double down on what they've reported so far but the French/European press won't and UEFA are hardly going to cave in and take part in the UK press cover-up to appease Liverpool.

All signs are pointing to paper tickets becoming a thing of the past very very soon. Better get a smartphone if you dont have one already...
Yeah, even smaller teams are going paperless, and it's the same at gigs/festivals - I'm going Primavera Sound for the first time since 2019 (and Liverpool won the CL when I was watching Neneh Cherry, there was a tent nearby showing the match and it totally ruined the set and in hindsight I feel like a twat for missing her, but I was in a foul mood) and rather than printing my ticket, I have to download an app onto my phone and scan some ID and my ticket is there, and I think I have to flash my phone every time I go onto the site. Which is annoying and it means carting my charger around all the time, and I don't like being so dependent on phones for access to things, but if it makes touting harder it's worth it.

I am in no way siding with the dippers here but how have they come to that number? And more to the point how can they back up that assertion?
They’re just evening up the numbers with the Dippers & uk press, they’re in the middle of an information war with not much evidence

Kelly Cates already got the fake ticket defence in. It's up to UEFA to make sure there are no fakes and to not allow entry with faked tickets.

It does seem like the majority of fans who were locked out behaved well though many of whom would have had legit tickets but Liverpool supporters should be looking at their own although I suspect that many of the jibbers will be getting plenty of back slaps when tales of their jibbing are retold.

I was thinking about why it was so satisfying for Liverpool to lose. When United were successful they received lots of praise from the media and their fans were obnoxious but they never expected you to celebrate with them.

With Liverpool it is different. It seems that the media and fans want you to celebrate their success as well despite preaching an exceptionalism. They believe they are better than everyone else and somehow different and should be celebrated by everyone else because of this.

Now it bugs me that City don't get the credit they deserve and success seems to come with caveats. Ie we need to win back to back titles, champions league and the money makes success inevitable BUT I would never expect anyone else to enjoy it. 93:20 shouldn't mean to a Leeds fan what it means to us and that is normal and understandable.

With Liverpool it seems to be different despite claiming to be different than every other club and fan base we are expected to celebrate their achievements like they do. I don't laugh when they lose because I'm jealous or because I'm a plazzy but because they are deluded clowns and it is fun to see their little self important bubble pricked
And again: I HATE it when people do this shit. "Well, you should have stopped us harder, weh weh wehhhh." Shut the fuck up and take some responsibility. It reminds me of a thread on Mumsnet I saw recently with a woman begging people not to feed her horses and other horse owners complaining about idiots feeding them and said idiots going "well you should make it harder for us to get in then." Except people had put barbed wire and fences up, parked the gees in an area that wasn't accessible to the public, put signs up saying 'do not feed the horse' etc. and the idiots STILL ignored the signs, climbed the fences and fed the horses. Never underestimate stupidity or scammers. I used to work at Glastonbury as an Oxfam volunteer and we had shitloads of security measures in place and people still tried to get in with fake tickets.

ETA: and if you think City fans being asked to celebrate Liverpool winning is weird, try being an Everton fan. Like, there are kopites, usually foreign ones tbf, who genuinely can't understand why we wouldn't be happy about them winning the quad/league/whatever because we're not their real rivals or we share a city, etc. No way in hell would they EVER be happy for us. I mean, I doubt Barcelona fans are happy about RM winning the CL.
