While he joins as a young prospect, Carvalho is looking to become the best player in the world at Liverpool.

“I feel like to be the best player in the world, you have to play with the best,” he said.

“That’s what I’m here to do.”

Worked out well, maybe Tront saw it differently?

Liverpools signings don't worry me at all. What they are signing are very decent players but it's surely going to see a big change in their game. macallister and szoboszlai are good ball players, they're not the work horses in midfield klopp has always built his side around. They're going to have to change their style with those players.

klopps has never played anything other than the 1 style throughout gis entire managerial career which always involved largely bypassing midfield, there is no precedent to say he can set a team up to play any different.

The other option is they play the same way as normal and hope they can do the running which will likely end with them being ruthlessly exposed every week.

Their attack is no longer at the same level it was last time they challenged us either. Salah still has a few years in him but there's signs of slowing down from him, but nunez and gakpo aren't uptonthe same standard of mane and firmino. Then in defence, it's not changed for half a decade, it needs upgrading and refreshing as players age.

They could be our biggest competitors next season depending on others but it's not the same liverpool when they last pushed us to the edge.

I guess it will be the top two again. They had cycled off, so they should be able to cycle on. Hopefully, by the end of April, the teeth won't be seen too much.
