Liverpool Thread - 2023/24

A deluded, drink-sodden former dipper whose claim to fame outside of the wastelands called Liverpool was having an FA Cup final penalty saved.
This is a man whose bitter resentment of us is so deep-rooted that he has lost all sense of proportion. He is way beyond redemption and will go to his grave remembered by many people as an angry, embittered, spiteful old drunkard.
Dipper fans will see him as a legend, the rest of us will see him as he was.

As a side note, Kolo Toure and Adam Johnson won the same amount of trophies with City as Aldridge did with Liverpool. We don’t refer to them as legends.

That reads like a person spec for a Talksport job. Surprised he hasn't got his own show yet...

He’s so obsessed with us that you can guarantee he’ll be reading this forum. The sad pickled turd.

Mighty Reds finally unveil evidence of £50 million Stadium plans
View attachment 113383
Sorry to hijack a joke with a dull accountancy question, but does anyone know how the £50m worked for FFP?

Was it £50m spent in the three seasons being assessed for FFP, or did they manage to write off all the money they'd spent since the stadium was first planned in one go (i.e. including costs that were go back well before the FFP period)?

As far as I can see, they got off on a technicality for the 2014/15 season, because they hadn't played in Europe the previous season, and UEFA didn't have the resources to check teams once they'd qualified for the first time. The following season, they would have failed without the stadium costs, but if it's a write-off then that looks like a convenient technicality too.

There are some comments from 2014 suggesting that, had they been assessed in 14/15, they'd have only passed if they'd written off the stadium costs. Of course that would have meant they'd fail the next season, as their 'get out of jail' card would already have been spent.

@Prestwich_Blue - Is that something you know anything about?

It seems that every time a current or ex-dipper comes out with another unwarranted attack on us they get the media headlines. The back pages of the tabloids are full of former dipper/rag players spitting venom at the club, and we are never given the chance to fight back.
Former heroes like Paul Lake and Dennis Tueart etc, have probably got a lot to say in our defence, but are never given the chance to express their opinions.
