Well....where to start and catch up with a few things.
A few pages back there was a back and forth about how good (or bad) Klopp was as opposed to Pep. As the pic in the post above shows, there is one answer to that and its down to silverware.
Klopp may have been decent in Germany but got burnt out trying to keep up with Bayern. He had his chances and did take the odd bit of silverware away from BM....pretty much in the same way that has transpired here.
He is good but was always striving to catch up with Pep/City. Without Pep/City beign as good as yourwere/are, then nobody would have looked at Klopp and thought he had done anything special.
Only as agood as the competition you face and City have been that benchmark for the past decade odd.
Now to today....."You havent played anyone decent yet"...was the refrain from many a fan/pundit for the last couple of weeks. I never thought I would say it, but I agree. But thats coz City were far from a decent team today.
I honestly didnt understand what I was watching from City at times. Opportunities to get to the byline and cross it spurned as you checked back, not taking shots when they were on. It all seemed very very odd....but so glad it was.
Seeing Gomez on the pitch and I expected Haaland up against him trying to bully him, balls into the box to try and isolate Gomez and yet it never happened. It wasnt until Doku came on that Trent really started to get tested, it all just seemed a little tame from City.
All in all totally happy with the result of course but I am still scratching my head as to how we are 9pts clear. I still maintain that we havent played really well in any game save for the Rag game and against Leverkusen, but I would rather be where we are now than anywhere else.
As to going forward, it means nothing until we get into May. heard on the radio that Arsenal were 8pts ahead of City in April and still lost it, so plenty of time for City/Arsenal or Chelsea to get back.
As for what seems to be the latest littkle thing that the media seem to be tryign to blow out of all proportion...the You're getting sacked in the morning...molehill. I actually thought it funny and enjoyed Pep's response to it, thinking he was taking it in good part and it being ludicrous to even consider that he would be sacked. I guess its all down to being lost in translation, that he didnt quite get the humour in it. More chance of a statue to him than the sack.
Roll on Wednesday and we shall see whether we get a slap in the chops to make us realise that its a long race.
now back to Blonde on Blonde
