Liverpool Thread | 2024/25

EDIT: After looking it up, on both of our sites we actually get significantly more posts per day than them now.
They've never been a well-liked club - outside of the cult, that is. I don't know if that's because people in general don't really care much for the city itself or because of the club and their fans' appalling history. I don't hear much hatred towards Everton, but I genuinely cannot think of the last time someone said anything positive about the dippers. And that says something when you've got the rags and the gooners vying to be the most unpopular club in English football.

I used to despise Liverpool fans but as we've competed with each other then I've grown to respect them more (the ones in real life I mean, RAWK is a shitshow). Not early on but in the last couple of seasons. A good example is their reaction to our blip in form recently and their excellent form - the ones that I know who are all long term season ticket holders, they refused to get carried away, weren't ripping the piss and being all dramatic like Arsenal and United fans. They understood that blips in November don't mean anything in April and that City will come back strong. Just in the same way that I think a lot of people here are more worried about Liverpool for the title than Arsenal because we respect the mental strength of Liverpool to compete in that week to week grinding perfection that we've both had and you need in order to win the league. Again, they're not my favourite people in the world and I used to hate them before the takeover even more than United but I've gained a respect for their accomplishments in the last few years and their ability to push us which I don't believe Arsenal have as a fanbase. Arsenal's fanbase reminds me of us in 2010 in terms of anxiety but with an incredible arrogance about their place in football

What did he say to him? I'm at work so have the sound turned down
He said he’s going to steal everything Pep owns because that’s all he knows to do. Then he will brick our bus in between going on the latest rampage in Europe to get all English clubs banned. Something like that.

I presume the sample you are showing respect to must be virtually miniscule, because even the ones I know who are season ticket holders, are bordering on deluded and giddy, and have clearly never learned from past experiences.
