I agree but it's been a prosecutable offence since 2023 according to this. What I find odd is that while the examples in the CPS link are clearly not an exhaustive list and there will be others that could legitimately be included, how Liverpool/Liverpool fan groups have managed to get Heysel shoehorned into it is quite something else:how on earth can you ban someone for chanting absolute fact just because they dont want to hear it?
I agree. I think many fans are simply unaware they can be lifted for it though.....until it happens! IMO, the authorities haven't been playing exactly fair on this because I don't think the new laws around tragedy chanting have been communicated to football fans anywhere near as much as they should've been. The 2 City fans I spoke to at Anfield in December who were doing it were astonished that it's even considered an offence these days. It’s like Jeffrey Dahmer crying because someone reminded him what crimes he perpetrated. My viewpoint on the whole situation is don’t go to Anfield and use that chant. You are giving them what they want and playing into their hands of being offended. It’s a wet dream for them and they revel in it.

It doesn't. Maybe I wasn't being clear! I was trying to say that it's not an exhaustive list and there will be plenty of other examples not in the link that could be classed as tragedy chanting but it's a puzzle as to how Heysel can be one of those examples. Well, certainly not in the sense of singing it against Liverpool fans.Where does it reference Heysel?
Only his first season compares to this though and dippers had no midfield and defence then, he has 31 goals and assists in 19 games, it's more freakish than his usually very good seasons.Salahs had alot of ‘freak’ seasons in fairness.
