Ye but other teams were also better, premier league teams aren’t so good at the moment especially us, looking at the CL they’ve a good chance of that. Only thing would be sone injuries as fixtures like up, but they seem to be on big inhalers again.

But the opposition were better at the time.
The dippers probably had a better team as well
I'm thinking of the Sane Firmino Salah line up.
The Newcastle Carabao final is the first test.
Get through that and they will have the backing of every TV channel and newspaper behind them for the quadruple.
Madrid and ourselves facing each other is an added bonus. They can only meet Barcelona in the champions league final.

But on the ther hand would u be happy with arsenal stopping them with a champions league final win?

TBF, Newcastle are predominantly a team of grafters - Isaak aside, Bruno G puts his foot in, but tidy with the ball..but they have 100% ers in Byrne , Hall et all..Gordon causes problems..but i see them more as a hard physical side. Liverpool have far more quality. What is evident is that football needs both grit and guile...when our guile is off - where's our grit this season - surely 100% effort is bare minimum for anyone picking up £50K a week !! minimum I know we have loads on more than double - treble - quadruple that and some - that's embarrassing really. I know our lads are tired this season after monumental efforts - but we don't fight hard, track back, and they still pick up this ridiculous wage

We do seem to have a fair few defenders who weirdly, don't like a tackle, fine if things are going for you but a nightmare in our present state
 
Considering they have won 10 league cups they have been poor in the finals, drawing the last 3 finals they have won in regular time.
Finger's crossed they Newcastle turn up with the right attitude.
