Disappointing to see a honoury manc chose to go play for the dippers. Will be interesting to see if he can play fullback because he's a pretty much a winger getting away with playing as a very advanced wing back. He'll be great going forward but should be targeted defensively.

I never wanna hear we can't compete, we are so broke. How many PL teams drop or even clubs in the world drop that sort of money on 1 single player ??
A;isson, VVD, Wirz, This, Nunez, countless 40+ million attacking players Jota, gap, Diaz, Salah, Konatte, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai etc etc. Probably one of the most expensive teams in the PL.
Hate to say it but fair play to them as not standing still after winning the PL and adding some real quality to the starting 11.

Haha just as I predicted, the copium is in overdrive. Trying to present this as one of the best deals of all time in a desperate bid to mask the stinging pain which we all witnessed when they booed him en masse.

The reality is they sold their most valuable player for £8m and only the most deluded of cult members could ever try and present that as a good deal. They could almost buy a tenth of a Darwin Nunez for that...
It's 8m for a month of a player's contract though, that is an absolutely laughable fee. Madrid coulda got him for free. Shows much money is swilling around in the CWC. I know they're desperate for a RB but yikes, is he gonna make that much difference.

In isolation it is but ypu always have to consider the whole scenario.

They stand to make 10 times that for going most of the way in the CWC, they have no recognised right back in the squad, they're extremely short on defenders in general, they've got a new manager who they want to give as much time with his new squad as possible and then they've just got Liverpools most valuable asset for nothing. So it's well worth paying from their perspective.

An example of the European cartel looking after each other with Madrid paying Liverpool £8.1M for Arnold, whilst, picking up his wages, so they can get him a MONTH early. Probably means he’s now the most expensive player in history…..
Yeah if you want to believe the media.
Last month it was £800k to release him from his last 4 weeks - all of a sudden it's 10x that.
Fuckin ridiculous and I don't believe it for a minute.
That last line is brilliant btw - can you imagine calculating that on a Chelsea 8/9 year contract when it was still possible

Their PR and how they work the media is quite something
You’d think they’d got £50m for Trent today
I’d doubt it was £10m also

When they sign Wirtz for £120m they’ll say it’s the coutinho money probably

They’ve done some great business here and be the favs for the league but I never want to hear a single feral slate anyone paying huge fees and crying poverty, they are the most hypocritical insecure fanbase around always looking for praise and slaps on the back but they will never erase the carnage they’ve created and still create wherever they go especially if it doesn’t go their way.

These are two worryingly good signings for them but I look forward to the 1000 word love fest on the BBC on our signings to match the Frimpong + Wirtz ones.
