Are you saying we spend MORE than we earn?!? I think even the most die hard City fans would disagree with that. We have mammoth income. 3 recent CL finals. 2 Premiers etc. And we had barely spent in the previous 2 windows. The Red Sox fans can get fucked.

Back to lurking.

If you look at Liverpool’s accounts over the last four years, last time they posted a profit was £7.5 million in the 21-22 season. The last accounts for the 23-24 season show a record of their worst loss in the club’s history of £57 million. They have also survived on now deemed illegal interest free loans from Fenway sports of up to £70 million. Last seasons accounts there’s an obvious reason why Slot wasn’t allowed to spend with the losses incurred. Can you please run the maths on that previous statement that Liverpool don’t spend more than they earn as the audited accounts say otherwise.

Liverpool fan spouting nonsense about financial matters… I’m shocked, shocked I tell ya

Newcastle should sell anything from £120+ Isak is pretty injury prone and getting to and Age one bad injury and his pace be gone which will negate a lot of his performances
Isak is a top dribbler he isn’t that dependent on his pace. I think they will be fine with him playing 30 instead of 38 games while scoring 20+ then some average striker that gets 15 in a whole season when lucky.
The amount of outstanding strikers out there is less than a handful

thinking hat would be equivalent for them to repeat our horrible summer window last year.

bringing back Henderson, and a young untested winger and sell someone with the importance of Alvarez was for us. wish they done that instead of a possible window of Wirtz, Frimpong, Kerkez, Isak. thats 4 starters for them.

The top 4 (or 5) is gonna be immensely strong next year, I can't wait.

Probably the strongest top 5 teams ever?

Liverpool - Adding Wirtz, Kerkez (?) , Frimpong
Arsenal - Adding Sesko, Zubimendi (?)
City - Adding Nouri, Reijnders, Cherki
Chelsea - Adding Estevao, Santos, Delap
Newcastle - Adding Pedro (?) + More

I think any of first four can win it next year, Newcastle might be a stretch, but you never know if they have an injury free season and add £200 M worth of talent.

It's not just about buying good players.

It's about identifying and filling problem areas with the right players.

For example Ait Nouri isn't a good buy because he's such a brilliant player, no he's a good buy because he solves a problem for City.
A question is, is zubimendi better than the player he's replacing? does he solve a problem? maybe the problem he solves is as simple as squad depth.
We'll have to wait and see how many of these players solve issues for their clubs.

can't wait

To be fair, if Liverpools 2020 title has an asterix. Then City's 2021 title definitely has one.
personally i don't think liverpool won the title in 2020 due to covid (but its a great stick to beat them with)

i think that the reason city lost the title that season was that we failed to replace vincent kompany.

that was then compounded by a serious long term injury to Aymeric Laporte leaving city defensively vulnerable.

yes injuries played a part but that was bad planning on citys part.

city had tried to get a CB but walked away from expensive deals and the following season we went and got Ruben Diaz and proceeded to win everything

They sure do love to virtue signal about other team by saying they are a leftist socialist club whilst when something benefits them they suddenly look the other way. They had a meltdown about Henderson moving to Saudi Arabia whilst all of them now are glazing Guehi now. This is not surprising since they actually defended a proper racist who racially abused Evra few years ago.

We used to be a leftist socialist club.

Not bad business that if they sell Quansah to Bayer, effectively wiping off a large chunk of the Wirtz tag. Granted, it’s no Haaland for £55m, mind.

Something has to give though. They can't keep buying players for big money and keeping the ones they have? Surely 3-4 players have to be sold to make way for these players?

Wirtz alone costs them upto 35-40 million a season. Isak will be more.

Where are the days of Liverpool winning a title on a "shoestring" budget. Must be that elastic Coutinho money again.
