Walk like an Egyptian

What I find hilarious is 'The Egyptian King" accusing the club of throwing him under the bus. What does he think his cryarsing about Slot is, if not throwing Slot under said bus?
Given the involvement of buses, one presumes Merseyside police won't investigate either way...

All you'll care to remember him for, perhaps, but 252 goals and 119 assists for English clubs suggests he's a bit more than that.
How many of those goals were penalties from an obvious dive? The man's a massive cheat who will never be remembered as a truly great player as when he had the opportunity to play football he invariably chose to throw himself.to the floor.
Same with Suarez, Mane, Klinsmann, Van Persie, etc. Could have been remembered as truly great players but mostly remembered outside their fanbases as being massive cheats and a stain on the Premier League.

Given that was before the 'birth of football' and was not a cup final, 'a peak British television audience of over 12 million' really was something else, especially as the population in 1989 was around 47.5 million.
I think it sounds about right for a final round game between the top two, winner takes all match. It would have been the only match on TV then of course.

Massive cheat of a player, that's all he'll be remembered for. Premier League will be better off when he's fucked off the diving shithouse.
He was -in his prime- a magnificent goalscorer: the real poacher instinct that a good striker needs. To me it's just a crying shame he went to one of the two worst clubs he could have chosen.
But goalscoring aside, he was a snidey, cheating, diving fucker who should have had many many more cards than he ever did: thus he would have been suspended for most games.

Great goalscorer but a **** of a man.
