This is how seasons start to be derailed. Think City, this time last season.
I'd love it but it's apples and oranges ....our magical team was running on fumes for months even before our drop off. It was clear we needed younger replacements in key positions. This lot have just blown a vast amount of money this summer disrupting a consistent team to "strengthen".

Now we will see whether Slot can manage a dressing room where a lot of the new or highly paid players expect to play week in week out . Pep's hidden genius is his ability to do this , partly man management but also because of his exceptional track record which no player could argue with. Several of Liverpool's signings are " best in class " and think they are world class . That could be a problem for Slot ....

They are wide open in midfield as Slott is trying to accommodate all his big money signings.
Wirtz is too weak. He gets shrugged off the ball so easily plus he gives it away 9 times out of 10.
You can't have your fullbacks bombing on then leave either 2 or 3 behind you, they are wide open every game.
Anyway fuck em, let's see if they continue this lovely phase of defeats.

its amazing how the commentators manage to deftly swerve the fact that they had 300m pounds worth of attacking 'talent' on at the end and were still resorting to hoofing it in the box and hoping and this is why they get away with it in the prem, in their defeat to palace they had a laughable decision given to them which var failed to overturn because they are frightened of upsetting the dippers and last night the ref gave them a laughable penalty which var did get right BUT should never have been given in the first place as the ref was looking right at that and chanced his arm.

It's early days so I'm not celebrating their demise just yet, but a few decisions went against them last night that would not have happened at Anfield, certainly not in the Prem.
The officials in this country seem afraid to upset the red cartel, and last night this was proven tenfold when the ref did what he had to do - control the game according to the rules, NOT control the game according to the rules of pgmol and the blinkered media.

I'm beginning to dislike Slot as well. As predicted he's now become a fully signed-up cult member - a win and he's a jovial, benevolent character with a chirpy smile and a twinkle in his eye, lose and he's a fiery demon ready to unleash the powers of evil on those who have wronged him. Not only that but he looks like a thumb.

LL after lots of iffy late winners, keeper out, 1 forward nowhere near fit and could still bomb, another injured, slott moaning about a small squad and too many games (didn't take him long to 'crack'), TV in a panic that they're not going to keep on winning.

Is this a fallow year for asthma?

Wirtz is getting a lot of criticism but perhaps their team is just not as driven as it was last season? Pep and Ferguson have often talked about how difficult it is for a title-winning team to come back and defend their title.

What about the performances rather than the results. They haven't been playing well. See the performance at Newcastle where they were outplayed by 10 men.

Never mind 4 yes 4 hear me 4 times in a row

They're unbalanced and easy to play through and get at.
Defence looks all over the place and Salah is off form, maybe he's done, can't go on forever.
The new signings haven't done much bar Ekitike.
They haven't won many games by more than 1 goal, Bournemouth I think is the only one, and have enjoyed good fortune in plenty of those games.

Having said all that they're sitting top of the league and will improve, so I'll wait a bit longer before writing them off.

If they get bummed by the rent boys then the wheels could really come off. Those precious scouse tarts in the dressing room start throwing their stolen snide Louis Vuitton handbangs around and they’re fucked.

The Bournemouth game was certainly in the balance, when the Cherries got it back to 2-2.
Could have gone either way ?
When the Liverpool sub (Chiesa ?) made it 3-2, in added time, Bournemouth went for the equaliser but were knackered, getting caught out to make it 4-2.
Liverpool have had an enormous amount of good fortune with injuries and opposing teams having their key players injured (Chelsea are missing a few players this weekend).
Their goalie was injured last night, if the captain also misses games, then the title race is wide open...

Yep, way too early to write them off. However, what their early season performances and these couple of defeats have done is give us and other clubs hope that they won't be running away with it this season. I'll be the first to admit that I thought they had an amazing summer transfer window and spent big but well on some quality players. But that's all well and good on paper and it's possible that Slot might just continue to struggle to get them to perform. There are plenty of high-profile examples of this happening at clubs who were reigning champions - Veron at United under Ferguson and Shevchenko at Chelsea under Mourinho were both signings that many expected would help take those teams to another level but they ended up flopping.

Slot's clearly a good manager and his calming influence last season was key to Liverpool winning the title - they were able to control games better than they sometimes did under Klopp, but now he has a different issue in trying to keep all these big name signings happy while at the same time integrating them into the team.

Personally I think we purposely go for a Humble hard working personality sort of player, they're worth much more than stars (who are actually good) but down tools when they don't get their way.

Having seen Chelsea get outplayed last night by Benfica, who had ten men for quite a while, but fluke a 1-0 win courtesy of an own goal, I wouldn't put any money on a Chelsea win.
