I live in horwich we have a lack of speed cameras here and It always pisses me off the odd car goes through this town at what must be 100mph I always think to myself I hope the **** wraps it up and kills himself when i hear or see cars going through here at such a fast speed. Like you say someone innocent mostly gets taken. It pisses me off. I can hear them still racing going upt to rivington winds me up so badly. Makes my blood boil tbh.
It's become a grim sport in alderley edge.

Cannot recall the name of the pub but it faces a well known blackspot where rich twats total the cars they cannot control.

I love close by and the bit passed the res that's 60mph and then you blink and you're in Horwich town centre is scary.

I get my haircut in Horwich and that strip in the centre is prime for awful parking as well

I was up there yesterday and I can tell you that most riders don’t thrash it about like you say, if we were to stick cameras up everytime the odd bellend thinks it’s cool to thrash it around we’d be better off walking.
It’s been like this at rivington barn for over 50 years and I believe the Belmont road has cameras now doesn’t it?

No. What about the families of innocent victims who were killed by speeding drivers. What would they be thinking when they see a speeding driver who died after allegedly turning the public highway into a racetrack being revered and worshipped rather than vilified.

A relative said exactly the same thing to me yesterday. We had two cousins aged 10 and 11 killed, and their mum crippled after a speeding (and pissed) driver mowed them down actually on a zebra crossing. Zero sympathy for speeding twats.

DAZN bought the rights to the CWC, so the terrestrial broadcasters had no chance to show it.
But they never showed any of the euro U21's either.
The womens football is on several BBC channels.
Possibly they gave been priced out but C5 did a deal with DAZN and channel 4 showed the U 21's.
I was just surprised that the liverpool match was shown against Preston.

They've yet to get over the dead chicken !!

Anfield 'tribute' to dead chicken!

A community mourning the death of a mystery "baby" was told today: "Stop grieving, it's only a chicken."

A makeshift shrine of flowers and cards sprang up after a member of the public discovered the remains of a foetus in a back alley in Anfield, Liverpool.

Merseyside Police cordoned off the scene to investigate, but tests soon revealed that it was only a chicken foetus.

The truth was reported in a local newspaper, but a rumour had already swept the area that a dead baby had been found.

More than a dozen bunches of flowers were laid at the scene by well-wishers, along with teddy bears and cards.

One card read: "RIP Little Baby. Safe in the arms of Jesus. From someone who is a loving mother xxxx." A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police stressed today that the remains were not human.

She said: "It seems a member of the public saw the remains of a foetus, which possibly resembled a human foetus, and called us.

"We cordoned off the area to investigate, as we would with any possible suspicious death, but it became apparent it was not a human foetus.

"The flowers and cards are obviously the result of local gossip, but we can assure people that the remains were not human."

Conservative MP Boris Johnson was forced to apologise last year after the Spectator magazine, which he edits, claimed that Liverpudlians typify "the mawkish sentimentality of a society hooked on grief".

Had a quick scout around to see if any other friendlies are being shown on terrestrial TV and to my surprise it was just that one.

No surprise.

I admit I was shocked and felt a bit gutted when I heard the news. Since then it’s become obvious he was speeding and wrecked not only his life but his entire family.

Worst still, it had to happen to ‘that club’ didn’t it …. we all know the rest and how long it will last.

Have you never seen the dippers in full grief mode? This will go on for years

I'm waiting until we play them, we win and then one of their stewards goes into the toilet and scribbles on the wall something about Hillsborough or Jota, takes a picture and sends it all over social media....again.

Very very sad about the lads that died and nothing anyone can say can change that, scousers are forging and minting memorial medals already and it's kicking off into over drive.

Preliminary reports from the Spanish body in charge of investigating this incident, indicates that Diogo Jota was driving and that his vehicle was moving at a speed far in excess of the limit at the time of the crash.

Years ago, when driving from Los Angeles with my brother to my parent's home in middle California, I vividly remember speeding on I5 - a 2 lane interstate highway with little traffic outside of rural areas.

I wanted to see how fast my 1969 Pontiac Firebird would go. I hit the excelerator, moved into the left lane (in the USA the left lane is the passing lane, opposite that of the UK), and let my Firebird... fly. The speed limit on I5 at that time was 55 miles per hour.

According to the speedometer I hit 110 miles per hour before wind resistance and other factors prevented me from going faster.

Up ahead I saw a car in the right lane of this two-lane highway - and I passed that car which was moving at the speed limit of 55, while traveling at 110 mph on the left.

That was, perhaps, the stupidest, most dangerous thing I ever did. What if that driver I passed unexpectedly changed lanes? - that would have resulted in a collision equivalent to my driving at 55 mph straight into a stationary vehicle.

Given the safety equipment at the time - no air bags, only seat belts and so on - such a collision would almost certainly have killed both me, by brother and likely anyone in the vehicle I hit.

My heart goes out to Diogo Jota, his brother, and the family, friends and teammates suffering through this tragedy.

And I can easily see - based on my own growing up - how this accident might have occurred as a mistake of youthful exuberance (I'm not claiming at all that the accident occured because Diogo wanted to see how fast his car would go - but I offer my own experience as an example where inexperienced youth can make terrible decisions).

it was only last year a car went through a shop on lee Lane I dont know if you read about it or not? I live just of chorley new road near the crown pub and the amount of cars I hear racing down is ridiculous. And yes regarding the parking jesus I cant believe how bad it is. When I take my daughter nursery in morning in pram im walking on road half the frigging time because I can never get through on the pavements through someone's car taking up all the space!

You are right to a degree most dont. But the ones that do make it dangerous it does happen up here, it was only last year a car went through someones shop on lee Lane in the town centre through speeding. Yes I think they have a camera up on Belmont now. But I still cant believe there isnt one in horwich centre though? There should be one in the centre and one down on chorley Rd just after the aldi, I live just off chorley new road just before the crown pub and I always hear cars racing down the road and I've seen it racers going down the road also just as ive been writing this ive heard one. Ive spoke to a few in the crown pub also and theyve seen it so it does happen up here.
