Four points at this stage of the season is fuck all, but it's not a few shock performances. They have been bang average all season and it's catching up with them.

Late winners is something champions do sometimes, but if you start relying on it then you're just as likely to concede them chasing the game.

The goalkeeper is a problem, the defence is a problem, the midfield is getting cut through like butter, the attack are missing sitters and snatching at them. Their dropoff looks as bad as ours, and they've spent a quarter of a billion pounds.

Well I noticed early on that even one of the advertising banners on the electronic perimeter boards had an incorrect spelling. When your sponsors are paying you millions and you can't even get a 5-6 word ad right you have a problem. Bet none of the scousers would have even noticed.

If you live in a part of the commonwealth of scouse that isn't English then it's understandable that they can't get it right considering they can't tell the difference between the word skip and café.

I've been saying it all season, even a month ago when some knob on here said they were "light years" ahead of us and our current squad would never catch them. They were ragging late wins which I knew wouldn't continue based on the way they were playing, they were and still are leaking goals and I don't rate them as contenders above us.

I stick by my assessment at the end of last season, I think Slot got lucky, he had Klopp's squad, but with the leash taken off but they still dropped 31 points - the equivalent of 10 losses and a draw - and their winning tally wouldn't have been enough to catch us in ANY of our last 6 title winning seasons.

Had it not been for injuries last season we'd have at least finished above them and I think we have an even better squad now. I genuinely believe that we've signed some of the most talented skilful players available in Donnarumma, Khusanov, Marmoush, Reijnders, Cherki and I'm adding Bobb to that list. If we can get these guys to light up and gel with the squad I honestly don't think anyone will get near us.

I’ve said several times before on here, but it wasn’t just physical injuries that affected us last season.

Practically every one of them was mentally exhausted too.
 
I think they will win nothing with the defence they have . Shipping goals for fun is never a good look and their GA , so far, is bottom half of the table . VVD has lost a lot of pace and is not a leader - quick to blame others. Wirtz is playing too deep , that's when he's on the pitch , and McAllister has lost form .

As for up front they have the players, theoretically , but Isak needs an intuitive relationship with a midfielder assister to score . A lot of his goals at Newcastle last season came from his excellent relationship with Jacob Murphy. He sort of reminds me of Sterling who scored so many partly because of the fabulous midfield engine keeping him so well supplied . Salah has lost TAA and his form has fallen off a cliff and that lad from Frankfurt, although lively , is only out for himself.

Now they are seen as beatable other teams will plunder their weak spots and go for the kill. It happened to us last season with the vulnerable high line Pep loves to play and there are enough good tacticians in the league to exploit that defence .

Yes, totally agree. I was constantly annoyed by the fact that so many on here couldn't understand that you can't deliver the same level of performance with half a squad missing and those still available running on empty because they were mentally exhausted if not physically as well. No club has ever done what we did, not just the 4 titles but all the cup finals, the trebles, the 100 points/goals, the pre-seasons, the internationals and so on. I'm amazed we finished in the top 5 last season AND the FAC final again. Staggering acheivement under the circumstances but some will never recognise it.
