You're joking right, if we had spent that much and were playing like they are currently playing thered enough articles on the press to circumnavigate the planet and a nightly discussion on sly sports about what has gone wrong and is this the downfall of pep. They should be rightly judged as we so often are, just cos their pet press give them a free pass doesnt mean they should get one.
I don't think he's talking about the biased media. If anything, he's warning against writing them off this season and beyond. After all, despite their implosion they're still only a point behind us. Things can change quickly - we were 8 points behind them a few weeks back. If they put a run of 4 or 5 wins together then the situation changes again.

Wasn't Rodri bang average in his first half season for you guys? He seemed to turn out ok......
Pretty much the whole of his first season I think but some fans don't understand that it takes time for certain players to bed in. If I could be arsed, I'd dig out some posts from this forum from the 2019/20 season where people were pretty much writing Rodri off

How weird. Why would Slott be looking at City’s team just an hour before his own match. Is he cracking up?
That’s exactly what I thought.

An hour before kickoff, Lost should be been giving his team instructions on how he wanted them to play, especially with so many youngsters in the side, not wondering what XI we were putting out.

The football media is hysterical and reactionary, they would have a field day if it was us (they did last November and December). Isak and Wirtz are not bad players, there were plenty on here in the summer bemoaning why we were letting Liverpool have a free run at signing them. I’d take Wirtz as he would fit into our system better than he does Liverpool’s.

Slot needs to sort this slump out asap, if he’s had his wish list sorted in the last transfer window and is moaning he still has a thin squad. It’s a lot easier to get rid of a manager rather than players that have been purchased for a big outlay.

What a shame that RAWK is no longer open to all. It would be Comedy Gold.
715 messages on their post-match thread so far - and Slot is getting plenty of pelters - some examples an there are lots more like this - they've closed the Slot thread:

Lost all faith in this team, but mostly on the management.

Disgraceful team selection by Slot. He basically threw the game. Unacceptable

I really hope Arne turns it around but given what we have seen in recent games I can’t see it happening.

Furious with that team selection tonight, moreso with the weak bench. Paying fans deserve a hell of a lot more than that! Regardless of who you are playing, every competition we enter needs to be treated with a lot more respect than what Slot gave it tonight.

It does, but can you honestly see that happening? I can't. And they'd need us and every other 'chaser' to go through a really bad patch for a similar run of games.
It's well documented that Slot has fucked up royally by doing what he's done, I think most are in agreement with that, and even in the unlikely event of Bingo returning to steady the ship he'd have to take on all of Slot's signings, which would put them back even more.
I believe (and if I'm honest, I hope!) that this will go done as one of the biggest fuck ups in the history of the Prem.

Spot on. A lot easier to sack a manager than sacking £500m worth of players. Their owners have been pretty patient with managers in the main. Rodgers had a mediocre first season but they stuck with him and nearly landed the title the following season. Klopp was trophy-less in his first 2 full seasons. However, having provided Slot with players amounting to the most expensive transfer window in English football history, they might not be as patient this time round.

He was known as HMS Plodri for about 18 months. Fortunately, he turned out to be one of the best midfielders ever

We’re held to a much higher standard than Liverpool because of the levels we’ve reached in recent years. That’s why there’s been such a pile-on whenever we’ve hit a rough patch, especially during last season’s poor run.

After their record-breaking summer spend, the pressure was always going to be on that group, and it looks like Slot is starting to feel it. Pep deals with that kind of pressure every single day, where anything less than perfection is a neagtive. They’ve brought in some very talented players, but that doesn’t automatically translate into the right balance or the results people expect based on individual ability.

could be thought of as a waste of nearly 9 mins of your day but I'd urge you to give some time to watch the Dublin Dildo's meltdown. They have turned on Slot big style now but a lot of what he says here is correct and what helps is the pain that they know what happened

The first time I've ever agreed with anything he has had to waffle about.

Just search for posts with "Plodri" in them.
