Liverpool v City - post match thread

Pellegrini didn't admit it, it was his lame excuse!" The team that played tonight had the night off against Chelsea and then played the weakest team left in the CL. Liverpool on the other hand player Thursday, Sunday and Wednesday. Why didn't they look tired?? Come on, stop swallowing the lame excuses and start thinking for yourself.
Liverpool changed 5

I do think our injuries have taken its toll on the overall fitness ,i think in previous seasons we were a lot fresher,i think the lads in the middle are running on empty

I'm chastened by tonight's lamentable performance. It could have been the same on Sunday if we'd gone full strength for the FA Cup, which I called for. Poor old Fernando got all four games and as somebody pointed out, he was kippered tonight. The opportunity of playing the Garcias etc earlier in the season to prepare them for games like tonight has been missed and if that had been done our obvious burn out could have been avoided.
I also can't help feeling our number one keeper's letting a pass back roll in to the corner might have been payback, unworthy thought that it is.

That clueless Pellegrini brought us our first double of the clubs modern era. He had just won another trophy and is in with a shout of one more and an outside chance of a other, having about to get us to our first quarter final in the CL in our history.

I guess you don't know what progress and a good manager is. Fuck off and support Bury.

Take it you have been tonight? He is a clueless buffoon. I do not give a toss what he has won. I said it after we got hammered in his first season off Munich at home that he did not have a clue. How a supposedly qualified engineer continually makes the same mistakes is a bit troubling. His degree must have been given to him by Fisher Price.

Why would I support Bury? I live in Manchester. You don't agree with my opinion then that is totally fine, that is what a forum is for. Why would you tell a lifelong blue to go support another team? Yeah alright, some bloke off the internet does not agree with my opinion and has told me to go and support Bury, I think I might go and do that.

I was totally numbed by our first half showing, but when I saw Sterling had been taken off for Bony I will admit for the first time in my life I deserted City. I've been there through thin and thinner, but tonight I just switched off the TV and went to bed after half time.

Something is seriously wrong with our players at the moment. I noticed it on Sunday that Kun looks disinterested and was even worse tonight. He never chased or harried anyone. Silva is the best player ever to pull on a City jersey for me but his recent displays have got to be more than a temporary loss of form. His passing and dictation of the game are gone at the moment and he looks like a player who's lost even when played in his best position.

We played our strongest available 11 and the formation was spot on imo and when the team sheet was read out I was confident that we'd get a result, but we were a total shambles. I don't know what more Pellegrini could have done at that point, but bringing on Bony was a mistake and by the sound of it I made the correct call to give up watching at half time because the balance of the substitutions were just as bad from what you're all saying.

From the display in Kiev to this in the space of 7 days? Something is seriously wrong at our place and anyone who thought CL qualification was a shoe in better think again. We're in a battle for fourth with the fuckin Rags!

Leicester is proving this season that its not about expensive transfers. So much more important to create a good system that helps the players and that can only come from the manager. After that players need to have huge workrate and great attitude. These are the basics. After this players skills/quality comes in...

We have more taleted, more quality, more expensive players than the rest, but the workrate, attitude or even a good system, clever gameplan is missing in so many of our games its crazy. Teams found us out, they know what to do against us, they even upgraded it from earning an easy draw against us to ripping us apart with ease like both Pool league games, Leicester loss at home, Spurs loss, Stoke loss ...
And Pellegrini is watching it from close. He has no ideas how to turn it around. Whatever ideas he had he had them in his first season, teams were getting used to that last season already, we tried to bring in KDB, Sterling, Otamendi hoping it will help us, well did it help? The problems were the gameplan, tactics, system, way we play, mentality, attitude, workrate. Signings aint gonna solve that.

They were up for revenge , we produced a tired performance agianst a younger , fitter team who had something to prove , not rocket science , and with the spuds, goons and freak team results , not much damage done , wind your necks in , have a drink , because Villa are going to cop it on Saturday.

That was so difficult to watch. Never looked up for it at all. I just don't understand how quickly our boys can go from a pack of hungry wolves to a complete bunch of wet blankets.

I will probably get abuse for saying this from some, but tonight I truly missed the likes of tevez, Bellamy, de Jong and Milner. Absolute fighters, who didn't know the meaning of giving up

Glad some can see things the way they are. I suspect Manuel is absolutely fuming with the lads tonight but he never slags them in public. Saying they're tired is all he could get away with really. Shows his class. When Bony tried shooting from 35 yards Pellers just shook his head as if to say god help me. I still think we will win the title though. City players seem to have it written into their playing contract to give the fans heart failure every season.

Well that was shit again, story of the season is Bony the new Lee Bradbury? It just goes to show how much we rely on Yaya. Fernando ran around like an headless chicken defence was shit Hart was at fault for first goal looked like his boot laces were tied together and all the rest didn't give a shit
Hart? Kompany more likely. If you don't close a player down they shoot.
Totally agree on Bony and Fernando.

Nah on 2nd thoughts every last one of them was dogshit.
