Probably not, hardly anyone takes that competition seriously anymore.

They'll just go into the Europa if they get knocked out, they'll still have european games to play.

worth bearing in mind though that they wouldn't give a toss about the Europa Cup as don't get much cash for it.

bit of a double edger really because if they go out it makes them more financially screwed yet we could with them staying in as takes up more of their interest than the Prem.

You're probably right, i think it's going to be tough finishing ahead of them anyway, they aren't as bad a side as some make out.

The longer they have an interest in the Champions League this season, the better for us.

The problem is if they managed to do an Istanbul and somehow win it after finishing 5th in the league with us 4th then they'd get the Champions League spot the following season ahead of us wouldn't they?! Cos im sure UEFA changed the rules to that after they did that last time no?

So don't wish them too well in it if we're still ahead of them in April/May...

Liverpool would just play their reserves in those games - it would be an embarrassment to them to win it - although I am looking forward to next year when they qualify by right!!!!

let's be honest it doesn't or shouldn't fuckin matter what anyone else does, our destiny is in our own hands. we're in the top4 and as long as we start converting draws into wins then if we are not in the top4 come may then we only have ourselves to blame. this is an unbelievable opportunity this season for us to nick that 4th spot with us having no european games to sap our energy, in seasons to come we will have the distraction of anything upto 19 extra games added to our season thru the europa league as if we're not top 4 we will piss top 6 no danger. now is our time

It doesn't really make much sense hoping they remain the CL so that they're tired all the time, if we continue to play our first team in every league and cup game then ours wll probably end up playing as often as the main Liverpool players

Apparantly Torres is wanting an operation so he can be fully fit for the world cup. If this goes ahead, he'll be out for 6 weeks :)
