Liverpools Excuse

The purchase of Aquilani shows what a joke they have become. Several people close to them have suggested they bought him because it was a knock down price. £20 million because he was injured. If fully fit he'd have been £30 million and they wouldn't have bought him. Ridiculous nes pas!!!

I have been quite amazed at the impact losing Xabi Alonso has had on their team. They seem to have gone from title contenders to a top 6 team with the loss of just 1 player. Great player Xabi
Was just about to mention this... Alonso was the drive in midfield with his awesome vision and passing ability and to adjust to have to play with Lucas there instead was a too big step to take...

They've had an ok team for the last few years, with a decent spine of Reina, Carra, Alonso, Gerrard and Torres...

however, losing Alonso without a top draw replacement was criminal, and Rafa has to shoulder some of the blame for touting him around Europe the season b4 and pissing him off. then when u add to that loss of form of Carra, and Gerrard/Torres missing large parts of the season, they were always going to struggle.

Ngog, Riera, Insua not good enough...

Lets hope it continues for the next 7 weeks...

Xabi was a great player, but I feel some Liverpool fans are highlighting his absence too much as for their failings. One player leaving doesnt cripple a team, United lost their best player from last season, yet are still going strong. Losing Xabi was a blow, but they've also lost their ability to defend. Last season they were mean defensively. Hyypia going is a big miss, Carragher is getting on, Agger is injury prone, as is Skrtel. Krygiakos is poor, he didn't even do that well in Scotland. Glen Johnson is not good defensively either. Gerrard and Torres have both been missing for periods, but have not performed to their usual standards when fit. Add to that, too many average-ish players. A mixture of all these factors is why they're not doing well.

I know all fans do it, and i know i do it on some occasions, yet the more i watch liverpool, the more i think they won't finish 4th.

I think we will, but even if we don't, i can see spurs or villa, getting there before liverpool.

They haven't had too many injuries, and still don't perform with a full strengh side. Not one of there players went to the african cup of nations, he didn't buy many players, so they did not need to gel into the team, and, to give them red twots in salford there due, they have worse off field problems (Larger debt), but they are still up near the top and in the CL.

So what will be the reson they haven't come close to performing this season?

They will blame their owners if they don't get 4th.

This, even though Rafa has had fooking millions to spend, and largely has spent it on shite.

1) We have lots of history and referees have not been acknowledging this by giving us our usual share of penalties and off side goals

2) When Steven Gerrard falls on the ground we usually get direct free kicks as a matter of course, because of the malicous rumours probably started by the sun newspaper that he is a serial diver this has not been happening.

3) When playing at Anfailed it has not been explained properly to opposing teams that tackling Liverpool players is not deemed to be in the spirit of the game given our history Probably the Football leagues fault for not explaining this to all the new players coming into the premiership.

4) The Royal Bank of Scotland do not realise that a club with our history should have access to unlimited funds so Rafa can buy any player he wants.
We should take our massive debt and move it to another bank who has more appreciation of our history and would lend as much as liverpool wanted

5) It is the right of Liverpool to win every league title and European cup given our history, the football association Michele Platini and FIFA are biased against liverpool.

Im sure we can all add to this list

Alonso got about a dozen players sent off last season. Playing against 10 men for a third of the season does wonders for a clubs points tally.

Ahhh.. Now its clear.

Yes, playing wank against a wank side. Torres has completely gone off the boil again, whining constantly to the point he got booked and giving up chases.

Eden Hazard for Lille though is quality! Heard a lot about him and he's been one of the best players.

-- Thu Mar 11, 2010 7:40 pm --

HAHAHA, 1-0 Lille!
