I know I bore people when I say this, but, honestly, Tories were not always like this. There was a time when they were (arguably) the grown-ups in the room. But then Thatcher came along, and gradually - for it took some years - the party became a vehicle for all the various loonies and fruitloops that at one time wrote on toilet doors, or joined the National Front. It really is a quite astonishing decline and fall.

Especially in recent years as they have literally absorbed the BNP and UKIP.

Although I’ve never voted Tory, I’m very much a centrist so don’t have the same visceral hatred for them that many on here conspicuously do.

Plenty of Tories I’ve liked and/or admired. Major and Thatcher in that order, for example. How can you not admire of woman who became PM in the 1970s? Fucking incredible thing to do.

So I can take politics out of my evaluation of an individual and their character, at least to a significant extent (don’t think anyone can completely tune that out).

I say this to reiterate the fact that this person attained the office of Prime Minister at all symbolises how far we have fallen as a nation. That such a vacuous, socially awkward, intellectual Pygmy attained that office of state should always carry a sense of national shame and embarrassment.

She is simply nothing.

It would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic.
