The face of these people astonishes me.
I honestly think they are either completely deluded or deeply sinister. One or the other.
If you are in a position of power and persuade yourself that everyone - apart from a few like-minded folks - is against you, the chances are you are seriously deluded. When your experiment blows up the entire economy, and you still think it's all a conspiracy, then it's really time for two doctors to put you away.
The people running the world's financial systems are not raving left-wingers. If you think they are, you're batshit crazy, It's similar to thinking the Jews caused Germany to lose WWI, and potentially just as dangerous.
