Llorente

A no from me. We signed Edin in front of Llorente, so if we are going down that route we should still persevere with Dzeko.

It's from a Twitter account called "TransferScoop" but there are genuine reports in Spain about this.

ie. <a class="postlink" href="http://ecodiario.eleconomista.es/futbol/noticias/3969718/05/12/El-Manchester-City-contacta-con-Llorente-y-prepara-36-millones-para-su-fichaje.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://ecodiario.eleconomista.es/futbol ... chaje.html</a>

But 36 million euros? Fook off.

Silly season is in full swing.

Seems a strange target given he isn't all that different to Dzeko.

Surely all efforts should be placed on Falcao.

Here's an English translation. So we want a tall target man to link up with Aguero, can understand that to a degree (all those crosses against QPR with no one to get on the end of them), but does Mancini have no faith at all in Dzeko to do it?

Manchester City want to sign Spanish star Fernando Llorente and have already had formal talks with his agent according to Spanish daily, AS.

The blues already have a wealth of attacking talent at the club however AS claim City are very serious about their interest in Athletic Club‘s Llorente and met the player’s brother, who is also his agent, at a La Rioja winery on 27 April.

It is claimed City see the 27-year-old as the perfect strike partner for Argentine international Sergio Aguero, who scored the goal that clinched the Premier League title at the weekend; a scenario which could see Edin Dzeko return to Germany where the Bosnian has already being linked to Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

Llorente was not named in Vicente del Bosque’s prelimenary Spanish squad yesterday as Athletic and Barcelona are yet to face each other in the Copa del Rey final at the Vicente Calderon on 25 May, however he looks certain to make the final squad that will attempt to retain their European Championship title in Poland and the Ukraine next month.

Any big man like lorente or dzeko wont work with this man city system, it needs good movement, being agile.

Although dzeko failed to hold the ball up or assert himself against defenders, something which lorente is very good at. With his back to goal he can take the ball in, wait or release and can score goals. This in theory is what dzeko should of been able to do but his first touch and shooting has let him down for whatever reason.

Falcao would be a better option, I like llorente but he's a spanish dzeko so there's really no need.I also think rossi could be a smart signing, great player and could be cheap due to villareal's relegation. Obvious concerns about his injury though.

granted he has had a good season, but if you watched the europa League final he was kept quiet by the Atletico Madrid defenders.....

The only forward who looked quality was Falcao, he has only just moved to At. Madrid and we already SERGIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...... : )

Falcao has been the one who has looked most impressive to me, strong in the air but with a turn of pace, quick feet which he can score with both.

It's not an area worth worrying about unless we lose Carlos or Edin.

Bilbao looking for £30 million for him, only 23 and would have him over RVP.

He's 27 and not worth £30million even though he's a very good player. You might be thinking of Martinez who is 23.
