Don't get me wrong I think the transfers we have made are great and it looks like we will have even more coming in but are so many new faces each year really a good thing?
To me at the end of last season we were not far off top 4.
I thought a Leftback, Right back and creative mid-field and we would be good to go. Not to go for number 1 but top 4 for sure. All last years new players bedded in and only 3 to get going.
If we get another 7 in this year we have the same problem again.
Howe long to bed all these in.
Much easier to get 2-3 each year and move up to the top over three years.
Again...not moaning because life is good but do we risk the first 2 months of the season being poor because we change too much?

I agree with some of what you say but I feel it has to be done this way. We are not like your Spurs or Evertons where the aim is to finish 4th every season. Our owners want to be Champions simple as that so we will buy players now who are deemed good enough to be in a title winning side, if that means a high turnover to replace top 6 players with top 1 players then that is what the club will do. We are not buying players who are good enough to sneak us into the Champs League, we are buying winners and for that reason we should see this as a positive and be very excited about what is happening at the club!

We haven't got 3 years - the UEFA financial regulations are implemented in 2013/2014 but are assessed on the 2012 figures. Therefore by April 2013 we need to show we are breaking even, apart from money spent on infrastructure. This therefore means we have, in essence, 4 transfer windows left (including this one) to spend like buggery before we have to show we break even between Apr 2011 and Apr 2012 - although I'm not sure when City's books are filed so that may be a little different... if they are filed in November then we would gain the summer 2011 transfer window.

In my opinion I think the owners have decided to 'accelerate' the plans again like they did last summer with Mark Hughes. After just missing out on 4th and seeing that none of the teams around us are improving the owners probably feel the club can not only achieve top 4 this season, but also challenge for the title. The brilliant part is that we are signing world class players who are still fairly young, so they shouldnt need replacing for a long time. I can see us starting like a house on fire and then having a dip around xmas before picking it up again and cementing top 4! And to say my first city game was the year before our relegation to Div 2, that will do me very nicely!

I believe that we will hit the ground running, a top player is a top player, as long as there is a rigid structure in place, (with mancini this is not in doubt) our boys will know exactly what their job is and will go about it in the correct way. Bobby has bought players, that will do a particular job, moving us on from last year, where we had silvhino covering midfield, a not fully fit, ageing vieira or having to rely on young boyata in such an important match. Don't worry fellow blues, our time is coming, sooner rather than later.

City are well and truly back!
