Moreno has been a bit Aaron Lennon so far but it's because he's a bit over keen I think. Bit like Jesus when he started in the Olympics.
'The position' for him, seems to be anywhere within 30 yards of the goal though. He's hitting the ball like Ronaldo dreams of doing.
Look like he'll end up a more advanced player than Lopes though, you can see he really smells blood when the ball is around the box.Reminds me of Lopes at Lille a little, floating around in the middle of the field waiting for the ball to pinball in his direction.
He's had some beautiful strikes all right but Depay had some worldies in that league as well and Wijnaldum was making a career out of it at one stage, there's just zero pressure on the player with the ball a lot of the time, he won't often get the chance to turn on the ball, wind up and get a clean shot away in the PL. That's why I like the idea of a Bundesliga loan where you get about half a second on the ball before you get hit. We've had plenty of chats over the last 2 years about the awful standard of defending in that league :)
As I said it's positive and it's nice to see but I'm about as convinced by it as I am by Roberts dribbling through sunday league defences for fun up in Scotland.
I was talking about Moreno, just to be clear. I agree with Nev, btw, that Unal might be more than we realize.Look like he'll end up a more advanced player than Lopes though, you can see he really smells blood when the ball is around the box.
So was I. Would like to see him go wide in this, he's not doing much centrally.I was talking about Moreno, just to be clear. I agree with Nev, btw, that Unal might be more than we realize.
