When I used to go to away games in London I used to to get a london saver ticket.
It cost £25 from picadilly to Euston.
my mrs wants to go see a show in london so I was wondering are these london saver ticket types still available.
help much appreciated.

Lol, they are still available mate but they now cost £60 + though. Around the £65 mark. Saver Return they are called.

try this its on the virgin train website

i got a return for £9 they sell a certain amount of tickets for less than a tenner but you have to be quick as its first come first served basis. If your quick the first one's are a quid

Thanks everybody, soom very good advice there.
she is looking to go april , however they only take bookings 3 month in advance.
We will strike as soon as the 3 month date rolls up.
its cheaper to get 2 x single tickets , £8 each rather than the saver return ticket - £65

thanks again

They're not even called Savers now - it's Offpeak return (which on some routes can be used on any train, peak and offpeak - it's called simplified ticketing)

If you're under 25 you can get a 16-25 rail card. Gets you 1/3 off all fares. I've just booked for London on a trip with mates on 13th and 15th March for £10.60 return. Book through the Virgin site well in advance.
Costs £24 but it's paid itself back, and then some, in a year.
