Looking After elderly relatives

In a follow up to my original post my farther in law passed away last week and his son who's not been to see him for three months was in the house the morning after removing over 50k worth of valuables and had the house valued the same day.
Wanker!

Sorry for the loss, some people are just fucking vermin, hopefully karma does him.

I have seen enough badness when people die to last me a lifetime, I don't take anyone's opinion on events on face value but I do know when greed rears its ugly head anything is possible.

Sorry for your loss.

Sadly as this thread has already illustrated, rapacious relatives descending after a death is a far too common tale.

I hope your wife can take consolation in the fact that in prioritising care and love over money she chose to be more fully human. Make money your god and it's a vicious circle, you hollow yourself out as a person and so you seek ever more of it to fill the hole, but it never does.

Sorry for your loss mate. That's just wrong what he's done but probably couldn't care less

Sad to hear it mate.
Just a note.
Run his actions by your solicitor.
As I understand it even if he is a sole beneficiary in the will he cannot do anything until probate is granted and that is currently taking months.
