looking forward to the new season

I can stand it. I want City. When are the fixtures out?

De Niro, I will cheer twice as loud for me & for you! I debated about aways but decided that as long as I can get tickets at the front & as long as these old pins will carry me I will persevere!!

I will miss you though. :-)

Same as me with old pins, plus bad backs and new hips needed!

My last away game was Blackburn season before last we won 4-0. It was a scorching hot day and I had a seat right at the back of the stand behind the goal. Due to the "standing policy" I saw about 10 minutes of the game if that, my eldest lad giving me a commentary at what was happening on the field. I enjoyed the day going to the pub etc, but it would have been better if they had just left me in the pub to watch it on TV.

I'm with the Op on this one...I had serious "City fatigue" towards the end of last season...went to Wembley both times, but my heart wasn't in it, not sure why.

Over the last few days the fire has re-ignited..think next season could be a classic season, with all the changes at the top clubs.

It is fear.Fear of what we could become and fear that it could all go horribly wrong again. We had 35 years of winning nothing, zilch. We used to talk about having a fucking parade for getting out of the old THIRD division, not as champions but scraping out in a penalty shoot out in a play off final.THAT was the height of our dreams, our ambition.

35 years.....kids growing up knowing nothing but failure, derided and taunted by the rags who won everything.Older fans like me thinking i would die and do so without ever seeing us win a trophy again.

We are confused. It is like someone on the dole winning 100 million on the lottery.Sheer joy swiftly followed by confusion and fear once the euphoria has worn off.We thought we had it made, then lost the title and with no disrespect to Wigan, who deserved it,reverted straight to type by being odds on favourites and losing the Cup final to a team about to be relegated.

It was easier when we WERE crap.We knew what to expect then, nothing, maybe a cup run,a promotion, beating the rags if we were in the same division as them.We expected nothing and the Gods and the club didn't disappoint.

People often stay in mediocrity all their life because they are scared to take a chance and don't realise the potential within them.It scares them.

As fans a lot of us feel this way right now,we will get through it and as we have always done come out smiling in the end.Keep the faith!
Great post, and sums it up perfectly. I can understand the disappointment of many last season, but even if we become the best, we still won't win every year, patience is required.

I'm really looking forward to next season, we may win nothing, but it will be a very interesting season for many reasons.

We may win nothing but the football will be much better to watch. Let this squad loose though and I think we'll piss it.

I also considered not renewing, it became a bit of a drag towards the end of the season as the football had become predictable, one paced and boring. I suppose we've been spoilt a bit. I'm just hoping next season we're watching a team that is exciting to watch
You must have been City for all of 3 seasons

a bit longer pal, my first game was 1975 and had a season ticket for around 25 of the 38 years since including the last 17 years

Yes but were you at York away??
