looking to buy some new headphones...

i'm after some closed back headphones, for use with mp3 player, cd player/hifi. mostly rock/indie music listened to. been looking at sennheiser etc, but hmv have house of marley's at half price at the moment.

anyone know what the best value ones are for round the £50 mark?

Agree with didactic, i got some Sennheiser Hd 203s a while ago for gaming on the XBox (not expensive) when i tried them with the MP3 player i was amazed, I can imagine a £50 pair would be amazing.

been looking at some denon's as well. but with me not going for high end range i'm wondering who gives the best product value for the under £50 range?

I have pair of Grado SR80i's and they are brilliant, about £100 but they do sr60's and they are meant to be good and they will be cheaper no doubt.

Senn HD 25 SPs are very very good but they come at a price,say 150 ish.Never had a bad pair of senns though,so the 50 quid ones should be decent

thanks for all the info guys. i'm tempted by some AKG 450's which are half price at the moment at £50. what hifi award winners 2011 so must be decent, reading some reviews say they can be a bit unrealiable after a few months (flimsy cord etc).

what you reckon?
