Looks like Chester City are finally gonna die.

The Prem should be scrapped no problems.

Chester can not blame that though, Accy Stanley and Macclesfield have a lot less money.

Chester should be able to join the League of Wales now, maybe a silver lining.

The club has been run by a nasty, horrible crook who almost did the same to Barrow. Twat is still running the club through his son. Offered to sell the team to the supporters trust for £1 if they took on all the debts in full. The **** has been banned as not fit and proper yet he is still going to take the club down. We were only saved by a consortium of business men and fans. Nasty horrible ****. Hope Chester survive but can't see it.

The whole situation has been a nightmare Stephen Vaughan is totally to blame...The fact that to "break even" Chester needed crowds of 3,000 in the league shows how poorly the club was being run.

Moving to Chester as a teenager I started going to the Deva when City weren't at home and developed a major soft spot they just seem unlucky with owners Mark Gutterman was a disaster he then did similar to Wrexham...don't go there about Terry Smith..

Vaughan came in and admitably saved the club and when the club returned to the league the stories started circulating that fans who asked the wrong questions where being told to stay away for their own safety they held a minutes silence for a club "benefactor" who died turned out he was a gangster and had been shot dead http://www.mirror.co.uk/sunday-mirror/2007/11/25/assassination-of-king-cocaine-98487-20157415/...that was the final straw for a lot of people they voted with their feet and yet more stories came out about fans being threatend. Slowly fans have voted with their feet over the last 3 seasons to the point last Saturdays match had an attendance of a little over 400 from the record attendance of 5900 when the Conference title was confirmed just a few short years ago. The club has done nothing to engage the fans they opened a club shop in the city centre in the most stupid location that only people going to the ground will go past it.

Even when the fans protested about the Fa withholding the clubs affiliation at the start of the season Vaughan got a club employee to join the fans protest group on facebook http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=137414905030&ref=ts and change the night they protested from a Tuesday to the Wednesday the group founder Richie had arranged for BBC to be there to cover the protest yet this employee could get Sky there through the club but only on the Wednesday. So a few hundred turned up Sky where there and yes so was Stephen Vaughan trying to present a united front he was the first interviewed etc.. Then the story broke Vaughan had been banned from being a company director due to an alleged VAT fraud he got round that by having his son (also called Stephen Vaughan) run the club. For 3 months the players haven't been paid properly I don't blame them for finally giving up they nearly did a few weeks ago but where given a weeks wages to keep them going one player was quoted as saying it was simply a case of they couldn't afford petrol to get to the stadium to board the coach.

The supporters clubs of Chester where fragmented but now have come under the banner of City Fans United they hoped to save the club based on event of the last few days they now accept they will be starting a new team as the cinference are bound to kick them out now, sad but examples like AFC Wimbledon show it can be done I love the game of football and if I can help in anyway I will starting with the fact I joined City Fans United.

sundays local derby v wrexscum also been postponed due to the police not being paid so they've put a prohibition order banning matches, so i think with a winding up order next month my local club will die probably before that date, i think conference having a meeting today but don't know the outcome. Oh for a rich arab owner to appear on the skyline as happened to our beloved city.
I follow MCFC home and away not missing many matches, but if city aren't playing and chester are then i'll follow them home and away, yep a sucker for punishment, but i always say to the redshite and scousers around here " if you follow a premier club and not born in that city/town you should at least go and support your local club", i practise what i preach and have a great time travelling with my mates to watch chester, they are planning a last trip to wimbledon for april, they don't moan, unlike some of our ungrateful fans, they just enjoy the day out, truth be known many of them do have liver and kidney problems !

NEVER let a game of footy spoil a good day/weekend on the beer and for the last 30 years us blues should know that better than anyone !

BBC stated there is a fan boycott going on, additionally players not paid for 3 months, still a privelage to play football at any level, even for nothing. Most of them must have a living outside football, or am i delusional?

My sons mate "plays" for them - he was with United reserves then went to Scunthorpoe, moved on to Wrexham - and no he doesn't have a living outside football - and he hasn't been paid for more than 3 months!

bluemoonbaldboy, have to meet up with you sometime, i'm sure we'll have bumped into each other at some time, where do you drink at eastlands ?
Also totally agree with everything you said, can't understand why the conference has given us a stay of execution though, i and others feel let us die now get rid of the vaughns and rebuild, maybe not next season but maybe season after at bottom of pyramid,
ONWARDS AND UPWARDS, who knows sheik monsour may have a brother who might want to start a little project.

i think its really sad news. nice little club, wasnt long ago that they drew level with us in the cup. also they represent the english side of the border in a really passionate derby with wrexham.

Yes it was strange that they only got suspended for 7 days...I am guessing here the club might be trying to cling on Bob Gray on Sky mentioned interested parties the answer is simple then show the money get the Vaughans the hell out of Chester and start afresh in the Conference North.. However get the feeling it's more spin the club will be excluded which then means CFU starting the ball rolling on a new club. Sadly don't drink pre games I have my two youngsters with me just throw a quick bottle of beer down my neck in the ground!
