They want these everywhere, its by design. Shops in California aren't even allowed to call the police for items under $100 being stolen. If the value stolen is under $950 you can't be prosecuted. Its a free for all. Fucking crazy.

Not for "essentials" like food, medicines, etc; no. I was thinking more jewellery, electrical items, luxury clothing, that sort of thing. I guess I should have clarified a bit more than I did.
