Wouldn't say it was the loudest , but one game that stands out (especially considering the circumstances )was Everton at Goodison near the end of the 86/87 season.
Bit of a role refusal from these days, they were very good and about to win the league (for the 2nd time in 3 seasons ) we were shit having not won away all season and looking very likely to get relegated.
The City fans were brilliant that day, really vocal, constant backing and loads of singing..'We never win at home and we never win away' would have been sung self mockingly and not ironically that day for sure. Seem to remember the home fans being pretty quiet and bemused by it all!
We got a very respectable goalless draw, made no difference as we still went down and they did win the league . That game always sticks out in my mind for the really genuine, noisy and passionate support from us lot.
