Lowering the drink driving limit

There is going to be a discussion to reduce the drink drive limit from 0.08 to 0.05 to bring it in line with Scotland. Personally I like popping down to the Local now and again to have 2 pints before tea so not in favour. It may end up the final nail in the coffin particularly for country pubs
If your business model revolves around drink driving you deserve to go bust.

And at two pints you are almost certainly over the limit anyway.

The 2 pints is wrong - maybe 40 years ago but take lager for example it now 5 or 5.5 percent it used to be about 3
Don’t drink more than one is my best guess otherwise it’s a risk and a big one
The limit wasn’t based on amount of pints, there’s always been different strengths/units per pint.

Alcohol is getting weaker not stronger in the UK in recent times. Due to further restrictive laws making it more expensive to sell higher ABV beer. It's quite difficult to find a big pack of lager that's over 5% in the supermarkets now.

No ambiguity at all, if your still pissed or hungover don't drive.

Hungover is dehydration, if the limit is reduced you wouldn't need to be pissed to be over it, in fact it would be impossible to tell without a breath test.

Seriously the logical thinking on here is fucking mad at times, I don't know how some of you get out of the house..

Probably not with a wine gum in your gob

Taxi!!!! :-).

I think pissed up cunts are usually under the impression they've not drank that much.

Yes they are don't be so fucking ridiculous, excess alcohol diminishes sound decision making. I think its was the bellend Jim Davidson who said if he wasn't.pissed he wouldn't drink drive.
Pissed up people do fucking stupid things. No shit Sherlock:-)

Reducing the limit has fuck all.to do with people getting pissed.

No where near as weak as it was years ago most lagers are 4.5 or 5

Interesting to hear that. I just asked Gemini to give me a quick history lesson on beer abv in this country and basically as you say it was around 3-4% in the 70s/80s then rose up to 5% or more as the standard in the 90s and now it's for various reasons going back down again.

I once drove home having not had a drink for three days, my judgment and coordination was far more impaired than if I'd had a skinful. I stopped and phoned Mrs KBN, who came to pick me up. I had flu.

I'm going to be perfectly honest here and I know people are going to call me the lowest of the low, a selfish **** and worse.

I play pool twice a week and have done for over 20 years. I always have 4 or 5 pints over the course of 4 hours then drove home. I've been pulled by the police once in all this time and was under the limit.

I've never had an accident or near miss in all this time. You drive slowly and safely to not draw attention to yourself.

I did stand-up in the UK from 2003 to 2016 and always had a few pints 5 or 6 nights a week all over the country. Only ever got pulled once by the police once right outside a venue.

In my experience you're only getting done for drink driving if you have an accident. The chances of a random pull while you're over the limit are a million to one

Sorry it's more confusing to know you have drank zero Alcohol than to know if you have drank 0.8 Mills??

No if you've had a drink on an evening how do you know the point when you have zero alcohol.in your blood. People will guesstimate when they think they can drive. How do you guesstimate zero, sherry trifle medicine a 0.75% Erdinger which is sold with 0% stuff.

You banning propoe for drinking a bloody 0.75% Erdinger.

Can we have some common sense and perspective here folks
