So he probably nicked it from some posh persons gaff.

I looked him up on wiki and he spent most of his teenage years/ early 20s in Victoria Park area, I'm not sure if that counts as Longsight or not, as others have mentioned. My FIL would tell me that LSL would come into his local pub in Victoria park, trying to sell his pictures and artwork.
Dunno how true this was.

Yeah Longsight Rusholme borders, it was originally a gated community for the wealthy mill barons etcI looked him up on wiki and he spent most of his teenage years/ early 20s in Victoria Park area, I'm not sure if that counts as Longsight or not, as others have mentioned.
Although that might explain why he was a City fan,as it's not too far from there to Maine Road.
I don't know actually, my FIL passed away a few years ago otherwise i'd have mentioned it. He grew up in Victoria park and would often tell us abou how it was private estate and you had to pay to get into it.The Rampant Lion?

Yeah it became a student pub around the turn of the millennium, previously very much a locals only gaff. Quite a few blues from Longsight Ardwick and Gorton way used to stop there pre match, especially in the warmer monthsWent to tons of gigs there back in the 2000s. Also watched the fateful ‘wally with a brolly’ match in there.
Went to a Fratellis gig in their beer garden once, and if that doesn’t scream 2000s shite indie scene, I don’t know what does.
Makes me a bit sad every time I go past these days that it’s no longer a pub.
